Thinking of adding paypal as an option for customer payments..

They charge 1% capped at £2 + 20p per transaction. Plus you're in control as you take the payments.

PayPal is something like 3.4% + 20p per transaction. And the customer has to pay you, so a direct bank transfer would be the best way to go if you didn't want to go with GoCardless as it's free. It's just getting them to send the payment is the real struggle.

I currently offer bacs payments option direct to my account, seems ok so far with the few customers paying this method happily and on clean date or few days later .

Just looking at all options for customers as some have asked do I use paypal others have asked about card payments

Well in my opinion then if you're happy using BACS and the customers are paying on time then keep using it.

The minute you get a messer get them on GoCardless or ditch them.

I would mate. If you like having control over your payments then GoCardless is the way.
