Went collecting tonight, worst night so far, I got about 20 collected in lol.

I think everyone was out enjoying the weather! bring back the rain! lol

No, when I started out most of my customers had cleaning done as well so would either pay all at once or we would put it on their monthly invoice. Now I just tell them that I don't collect and arrange for the money to be left somewhere or they pay by BACS. Worst case if they forget I leave a self addressed stamped envelope. I know not everyone can do this but the times I have collected its been a right pain as per your post! /emoticons/smile.png

I see, worked out good for you then. If stamps did cost so much I would probably do that

I know what your saying but a I just feel the price of a 2nd class stamp is 50p then envelope 5p (brought in baulk from the cash & carry) is worth it when taking into consideration fuel and time. But ultimately I try and find a way for customers to leave the money or transfer into the business account. /emoticons/smile.png

im like jamie, never been out collecting yet, they either pay on the day, post a cheque (at there cost) or pay online!

It wouldnt work for me as I do more houses but for less money, so it would eat right in to my profits lol. IF you have high priced houses then it would be fine

Very true.

I wish i didnt have to go collectinng... but its part of the game and has to be done ! /emoticons/tongue.png

Im well aware of that! but theres wages, direct debits etc.
yer i know, but thats all part of business. for an example, i could walk into jewson in the morning and order £2000 worth of stuff, being a trade account holder i wont need to pay that till the end of september. if 30 trade customers did the same thats £60,000 they are not gettin till end of september, but in that time there still is all the monthy bills to go out.
