Alpha windows

Hello everyone, me and my brother recently started a window cleaning company and at first everything was good we bought a second hand van with resin already in, all was good for around a month until the resin started to run out, to which we bought new. Today I have changed the resin and tested it out on my own windows, only to find dry spot after dry spot? Any ideas?

I presume you've taken a reading with a TDS meter?

If it's gone up really quickly maybe you have connected it wrongly to the DI vessel.

I find colour coding connectors to vessel with insulating tape useful.

Good luck.

Are you filling your van tank with tap water then drawing through the di vessel as you work so producing pure on demand.Or are you filling the tank each night before the next working day.

TBH mate I have no idea at all, I just know that it is hard water area. How do I find out fill a bucket of tap water and test it with my reader? It would have to be in morning now as van is else where

So to check your tap tds just fill a glass of water at home and check with tds meter, If you are in a hard water area a di vessel is useless as the tds could spike within a few days or less, You need a RO without any doubt which will cost you a minimum of £180 form http://daqua.co.uk

I live in a soft water area with a tap tds of 45 and could spend well over £300 a year on resin using a DI, I use a RO as they more cost effective longterm, Other Lads living in a hard water area might advise on the best RO or contact @doug atkinson and speak to him on the phone.

Unless their is a place near you that could sort you out with a new RO otherwise you will be waiting till early next week before been able to work again.

When we change resin we fill the di vessel with resin to the curve at the top and then fill the vessel with water. It makes inserting the riser tube with filter baskets easier. If you didn't do this then there is the possibility that the rise tube has separated from its housing. If it has then water will be bypassing most of the resin.

So I would take it apart, clean up the housing and riser tube of any resin beads, reassemble and insert it back into the di vessel.

If it worked before it should work again.

Hmmmm my brother did say it felt like something had came off when putting it back in. But what about RO Systems will I still need one of them to work in hard water areas ? Thanks
