I clean the office windows for a local warehouse, the owner has now asked me to clean the main warehouse building once a year top to bottom.

Its roughly 50m across the front, 100m long and 35-40ft high..

I have no idea on prices charged for this kind of work can anyone help?

I want a price for job not an hourly or day rate please.

I dont want to over charge nor do I want to lose out.

Cheers Dave.

firstly what are you planning on using to clean the building apparently a hot system works on signs etc.

Jet wash is the quickest and easiest way to clean down metal warehouses working off a boom lift type equipment

Im using a hot water fed pole system, I was thinking about scissor lift but all adds to price..

I just want an around about price that firms charge for this work... Not worried about not being able to do it...

Jet wash sounds good to me might go for that option...

Its a massive building to be fair

Wfp won't touch it really. It's just not powerful enough.

Some scissor lift can't get wet so you have to be careful what you use. Boom lifts are the best as you can cover more area in each set up. But you have to be trained to use all this sort of equipment, so if your not then you need to pay extra to have a trained guy work with you, price wise you could be looking anything around £1000 plus.

I don't know what they charge up were your from but were I am you can hire a beefy power washer for 40 pound per day and a cherry picker for 80 pound a day add them together along with what you want in wages for the day job done.

£80 dirt cheap guess that's for a little one not a proper commercial one as they start around £300

Then again as long as the cherry picker is safe and up to health and safety regs and also does the job what more do you want.

Oh right as long as they keep it all safe and can supply you with all the safety checks for it when asked and you are trains to use them it's not to bad then

they ask for proof of being qualified to operate it. If not they charge you an extra 100 pound a day for them to supply a guy with the machine.

That's the problem with living in a large town things cost more!! Lucky my farther in law owns his own tool and hire shop!

yeah we are very lucky down here don't get me wrong that's his price to me I don't know what he charges everyone. I asked about one to power wash a big house.

the more u use people the better there costs to you. If cost might be like trade cost then if Joe public comes in they would be a lot more

yeah to be fair my old man used to use him a lot when he was in the building game so I think that helps.

yeah i have been quite lucky like one weekend I hired a power washer on the Saturday morning. Didn't manage to finish the job on Saturday phoned him up to let him know he said no worries drop it back Monday morning two days hire for the price of one.
