Winning At Window Cleaning

H couldn't sound more juvenile and arrogant if he tried in this thread.

H, I've cleaned 1,000,000's more windows then you, earn't thousands more than you and have cleaned jobs that you could only dream of.

BUT, I still don't just rely on ONE FREE source of information to gain knowledge, and I'm still learning.

You firstly didn't know what the book was about before you said it was a waste of money, yet YOU say you are new and are willing to learn but say that information from people who have window cleaned for DECADES have no valuable information for you.

You want all the free advice and you don't take in all that, never mind the fact that if something costs something 99% of the time it's worth something.

I've bought and read that book, and through ONE JOB it has helped me gain the money I spent on that book.

I recommend it as it's a true source of BUSINESS INFORMATION.

Infact, I just read this:

Richard mate a job is a job to me mate i price it correctly
/emoticons/smile.png i dont overprice and i dont underprice /emoticons/smile.png

You asked on the other thread (and I quote) "Did I Price This Correct ?"

Firstly, LOL at your comments that contradict each other, and secondly;

YOU STILL SAY THAT A BOOK THAT HELPS YOU PRICE A JOB UP CORRECTLY ISN'T WORTH THE MONEY????

Don't bother buying the book H, as Richard has said, there are people who don't need to read the book and it seems you with your vast knowledge are one of those people.

/Rant over.

Mate look earlier in this thread and i said if i need help i will come on here cos when i need help this is the place to be /emoticons/smile.png a lot of people help me on here so i dont need to buy a book mate.... sack that lol

And obviously were all learning.... i learn something new everyday /emoticons/smile.png and i like to hear peoples opinions mate /emoticons/smile.png They can advise me on anything mate but at the end of the day its up to me if i want to act up on it.

No need to go on like a women /emoticons/wacko.png with stupid posts like that /emoticons/wacko.png as if u copyed and pasted that mate you are mad.... why u bothered about what i write ? i come on here to share my thoughts and see what people think of certain things mate

So no need to do all this to try and show the people on this forum that am arrogant like u said /emoticons/wacko.png if u think am arrogant then dont interact in my posts mate simple as that....

and it wasnt a rant to start with so why put rant over ? act ya age mate... your probs twice my age but u act all big on here mate if i seen u face to face i bet u wouldnt utter a word haha

And I aint acting all big, or trying to be aggressive, I mean, what reason do I have to be?

I'm only trying to get through to you that you shouldn't say a book is worthless and call it the same as a "tv commercial that says lose weight in two weeks" when you have no clue what it is and what's inside.

Why would I be trying to get you to look elsewhere for information etc if it wasn't to in the end help you H.

People on here want to help you and your business yet you have none of it on some occasions.

I won't have anything to do you with again then, I hope the best for you and your business.

And as I said, you may not need the book or want it, but don't just use one website and google for all your business tips. That's the only point I'm trying to make.

All the best in your future.

Mate people do help me on here..... your trying to help me by saying to me.......... this book is the way forward.... well thats your opinion mate but ive been going for 4 months now and i got 146 customers so am doing something right

And google is my friend /emoticons/tongue.png am running a window cleaning business here..... not a global worldwide company

Nah, I'm saying this book could be a way forward.

You are doing something right indeed. 146 customers is great and better than me when I started canvassing, but you slagging the book off annoyed me is all.

Regardless.

i never slagged it off mate i said that i wouldnt waste my time on it... its for some people and its not for some people simple as thattt

Masons and Harunh let's end this little disagreement before it gets out of hand, cheers..

Check VIP section marc it should have details etc in there..

Thanks Masons, it’s always good to hear experienced window cleaners liked the book, and thanks for the comment a “it’s a true source of business information”

I wrote the book because there was nothing for window cleaners, now at least there is something and window cleaners now have a choice.

Richard

I know I'm new and Don't want to upset any body, but would it be worth offering up a snippet of the book (like amazon) as an incentive or maybe a way to help convince H that It may be value for money, He may learn something from just that one bit and be swayed back the other way. I can understand his apprehension but although I'm not exactly new to the business there is still a lot that I could learn.

Hi windymancleaner,

The link explains what the book is about. http://www.wfp-brush.co.uk/resources/book

Sometimes it’s not just about learning, if you have been window cleaning for some time, you probably already now more than you think - you might need something to get you more enthusiastic about your work, especially if you have become set in your ways and things have become routine.

The book has got established window cleaners re-motivated.

Richard

I never said H should get the book.

My argument never was that.

I'm just saying he shouldn't dismiss other area's where information is offered.

If he got it you know he's only going to come on here and say it wasn't worth it and didn't help him.

I found it helped me understand how I need fixed rates for new jobs, they need to pay their way and then make me a profit.

I incorporate that into my pay structure of making money per hour, and having a total I need for the day.

It's a case of not just going on the information Richard gives, but using his knowledge to advance what you already know about business.

Some of what he wrote I knew, but never used the information correctly, and going through it afresh with my procedures means my business now has an improved vision.

£34.99 is a lot for a book, but when you consider that this book is for business use, and will help you earn more money and save time (and ofcourse go through the business books) then it makes sense.

I spend £30+ a week on diesel for my van so for me it was an easy decision to buy a book just for window cleaners, when I've looked and theres nothing else out there.

I don't dispute the price. Most business books are priced this way and I think Richard has done many people a favor by writing it. Anything that will save you time in not making the errors and get you earning more, faster is defiantly a good investment. My suggestion was for maybe half a chapter, or the intro like amazon does that people like H could read. Hasn't cost H anything and he may learn something, maybe not.

I agree that he was quick to judge the book before reading it, but I can see from his point of view. Guys on here have made a lot of the mistakes and are willing to offer help where they can. Both resources I wish I had found a few years ago :) I think that the book is a good investment for anyone in the industry, but more to some then others.

Masons, has got the idea he explains it like I would, and its much better when the comments come from the reader rather than the author.

Windycleanerman, (got your name right this time) I’m not that sophisticated maybe in the future I will put an ISNB number on the book and let Amazon sell it. I’m just like most window cleaners, but in the past couple of years I wrote a book and designed and made a new wfp brush, I still have to do the school run and then go and clean my customer’s windows. (Some days I wished I just brought a motorbike)

honestcleaning, no e-book yet, I personally think the hard copy is much better you can write your own notes in the book and highlight texts (and add your own) it’s not a £4.99 novel you might take on holiday, you are supposed to take the information in the book and tailor it to your own business.

Richard

That made me laugh Dodger, comparing my book with Old Spice.

Like Tecbuk brushes, the book has only had positive reviews by those that have actually brought it and read it, but the book won’t be for everyone. A window cleaner local to me; who I helped get started didn’t buy the book, even though he spent in excess of 15K setting up – its because he just doesn’t read books.

(H) harunh has his own valid reasons for not wanting to buy the book and people do learn differently to how others might learn

Richard
Sorry mate I meant it's about time she bought me something decent instead, wasn't a comparison lol.

I think I will buy a copy! Oh and Richard. I'm guessing the follow up will be winning at writing a book about winning at window cleaning!! Let's hope so! At the end of the day knowledge is priceless where ever you get it from. You can never have enough! Good luck to all!!

Sorry mate I meant it's about time she bought me something decent instead, wasn't a comparison lol.

No need to apologies mate, it did make me laugh.

Dodger, can you email me the/your delivery address for the forum brush? [email protected]

I will send it to you this Monday. It’s been so long I can’t remember which brush it was, if I get the chance I will read the post again before I send it! I think it’s the Hybrid brush.

Richard
