My first week using WFP and the results are shocking! Yes I know what you're all going to say, but I'm getting fed up telling people that the next clean will be so much better. I cleaned my house twice over the weekend before going onto paid work and even my windows look ****. I've knocked up some leaflets tonight

STEVE HAS CLEANED YOUR WINDOWS

I AM USING A NEW METHOD CALLED THE REACH AND WASH SYSTEM

BASICALLY IT USES PURE WATER, THIS WATER IS NOTORDINARY TAP WATER.

THE FIRST CLEAN WILL BE THE HARDEST FOR ME AS I WILL BE CLEANING POSSIBLY YEARS OF GRIME OFF YOUR FRAMES TOO!

IT WILL TAKE A COUPLE OF CLEANS TO GET YOUR WINDOWS UP TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD.

PLEASE BARE WITH ME, THIS SYSTEM DOES WORK.

I CLEANED MY OWN HOUSE AND IT TOOK TWO CLEANS TO GET THEM UP TO SCRATCH.

ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL ME ON...

07.........

Do you think this will convince them? I'm starting to doubt if I'm doing it right :-(

You need to take your time, rinse well and check your water is pure. Since I started 7 months ago I've only had 3 problem windows.

You must be doing something wrong check your water and scrub rinse rinse rinse scrub rinse rinse

this might be a better letter for you

WINDOW CLEANING SERVICES

The Water Fed Pole System

Dear Customer,

Your windows will be cleaned shortly using a method that will soon become the industry standard – The Water Fed Pole System

The system uses extendable poles and 100% pure water that has been purified through reverse osmosis & de-ionization vessels.

We are now using this technology for a number of reasons:

1). BETTER CLEANING RESULTS – The major advantage of pure water is that it absorbs large amounts of dirt from your windows. The process involves brushing your windows clean with pure water; as such they will be left wet and will need time to dry naturally. This may be a bit disconcerting at first, as obviously this is not what our customers are used to. However, once dry your windows WILL be clean and smear free.

2). HEALTH & SAFETY – A new legislation from Europe now limits the use of ladders. The law now states that ladders can only be used when all viable alternatives have been considered, and now The Water Fed Pole System is seen as a safer and more viable alternative for window cleaning.

3). ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY – Only pure water is used, eliminating the need for detergents and chemicals.

4). IMPROVED SERVICE – We can now reach with ease previously inaccessible aspects of your property. Hard to reach windows above conservatory’s, Third floor windows, skylights, etc…

Please note that if your windows have been cleaned in the past using detergents or chemicals it may take 2 or 3 visits using our Water Fed Pole System to remove soapy residue, this may result in minor spotting on your windows. However please be assured that once this is cleared you will be more than happy with the results.

My aim is to continue to provide a high level of service. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the above or any other aspect of our services.

Mark Munro

Thank good old pure freedom for supplying that letter /emoticons/biggrin.png I spent a fortune with them before I got access to download that letter

Like anything new there is a right & wrong way to do wfp work. What exactly was the problems with the windows you cleaned?

I know Marc but if we can find out exactly what were the problems then can maybe help Tuffers out....

Well I set the flow at 25 and went round the frames including the very top part that gets the dirtiest. Rinsed, then went over the glass and rinsed. Went back to a few houses when the glass was dry and there were spots on the glass. The water is 100% pure btw. Might be because it was 1st clean with wfp?

Water Fed Pole Window Cleaning Tips

1. When making the change to water fed pole, keep your customers in the picture by explaining to them how it works and the reasons for your decision. Be sure to mention that they should expect the windows to be left wet.

2. For first time cleans with a water fed pole use plenty of water and do all the frames first and then go back to do the windows afterwards, being careful not to touch the top frame.

3. Test the purity (TDS) of the water regularly.

4. To avoid spotting, rinse well and keep the brush head clean.

5. Avoid using the water fed pole on air vents above windows as dirty water will continue to run out for some time.

6. Rock back and forward on your feet to move the brush up and down to reduce the stress on your arms and shoulders.

7. Unreel the hose to the most distant point. Start work at the furthest point away and work back.

8. Use high visibility anti-kink hoses to minimize trip hazard and to save time undoing kinks.

9. Wind the hoses in neatly and they will be easier to unwind the next time.

10. Make sure the window is closed properly before using the water fed pole to avoid getting water inside.

11. Don’t waste pure water. If you are quick with traditional methods you may wish to only do the upstairs with the pure water system to save water.

12. Don’t rest the brush against the wall.

13. Soak the brushes over night with a few drops of glass cleaning solution. Rinse it off in the morning.

14. Invest in a good quality pole and brush head.

15. Use a system with an adjustable flow rate.

16. Use high quality hose connectors.

17. Ensure water tanks and barrels are professionally fitted and secured in the back of your vehicle.

18. Use a leisure battery rather than a car battery for powering your pump.

19. Use a split charger to charge the pump battery as you drive.

20. As an alternative to a transfer pump for transferring pure water from your storage tank to the transportable tank, make the base of the storage tank higher than the top level of the transportable tank and use gravity to transfer the water.

21. Carry spares.such as hose connectors, spare pump and some handy tools.

22. Use two DI vessels of mixed bed resin in line to prolong the resin life. Use the first vessel until the TDS level rises to that of the mains TDS then the second vessel becomes the first in line and a new vessel of resin replaces the second one.

ar u rinceing on or of glass ,ar the spoting under top openers ,did u use friy wash up cos friy is the hardest to get spot free

Tops of frames & rubber seals hold a lot of dirt/old soap so need to pay particular attention to those on first cleans. Stay away from vents as can be a big problen. If you don't scrub & rinse enough the water droplets dripping will contain dirt/soap so will dry out as spots and drip marks on the glass. You are more like to get more problems with hydrophobic glass too as it beads so need to rinse it even more....

On really filthy window frames & glass some prespray and scrub first with detergent/chem cleaner like tfr as pure water alone sometimes is not enough to get the desired results.

If you have hard water marks on the glass then needless to say you need to use a hard water remover.

Smurph, I think it's the top of the frame that's the prob, also I used fairy and I rinse off the glass. Will try not to touch top frame tomorrow, just thought it looked nice with all the frame clean.

It shouldn't matter if it's first or third clean mate the results should be the same, just take your time and scrub the parts that can cause problems, the little ledge at the top of the frame, the black rubber seal and the vents then as Mark said rinse rinse rinse

Don't use fairy mate you may swell use tap water, if you are going to use anything use ecover

Using detergent then rising on a low flow rate of 25 (not rinsing enough) is maybe adding to your problems. I used to use a trolley and water very sparingly when I first started but if you don't rinse enough you will defo get spotting & drip marks. Not cleaning the tops of dirty frames if you get them wet at all will also cause you problems.

just take ya time mate... do frames first... then clean the windows

and i think letters are a waste of time.. if they ask i just explain to them
