Wfp Set Up Pump

Its the right way up , mines the other way round haven't had any problems, and my pump is at the top of the tank look at mine, but people say it should be level with the bottom of the tank , as long as u dont get any air blocks u will be fine

Just try lowering slightly and if it carries on try shortening the intake hose, don't know if this will work but worth a try

Is your house fitting they type where if its not connected the water wont come out? I had one of these fitted on mine and had the same problem.

hi the prob isnt the pump, its the flat tank, when you drive the water moves around tank and lets air in at tap and pump pull ait through, so thinks it has no water so slows down, change to a upright tank

if you cant get a new tank, you need to put a splitter on the out of the di tank to run back to top of tank, as this i will all air to be pumped out and water drawn throught, the reason it takes so long on pole is the piping is smaller, so hardly any air escapes

I would get rid of those hose fittings. They will always give problems, especially on the suction side. Shurflo have purpose made straight and angled hose fittings that you can use which a good jubilee hose clamp or O Clip (which I prefer). The male coupler on the Shurflo pump is tappered and the hose coupling has a corresponding surface to seal properly.

Secondly, what controller is it that you are using?

BTW, we've had a Shurflo sitting above the top of the tank for years without issue. They can be placed up to 12' above the water level and still suck, as long as the fittings are airtight.

I find the quickest way to get rid of any air in the system is to just disconect the hose from the reel. Place it into the lid of the tank to save getting water everywhere. Then run the pump flat out until you see a constant strong flow of water. Do the same again with the hose connected to the reel. Job Done,,,Simples.... /emoticons/wink.png

Shouldnt the pump be turned off? Then It cant pull air through?
