Water not rinsing down the glass

Hi

customer asked me today what causes the water to stay on the glass after it’s rinsed. It’s fine once it dries but thought I’d try and find out for her. They are all new windows but it’s only the patio door where this happens. Photo attached. Any help appreciated.

That piece of glass has been contaminated with something, maybe silicone greese, possibly in the installation process. So long as it dries clear it's not a problem.

You also get hydrophobic glass that beads as well.

Thanks, thought it might be something like that. They are going to speak with the installers so might want them back to try and remove it.

A quick going over of white spirit, I think but check first, will remove it.

I did a bit of research on here and saw the hydrophobic term. Wasn’t entirely sure of what the term meant.I have called the customer and she is going to contact the installers. I don’t intend to do anything with it until she has spoke with them.

Looks like that window has been wiped with a cloth, hydrophobic glass takes longer to dry off, but it's winter she can't expect the water to magically evaporate within seconds.

Itll be silicon or something similar...you wont remove it with pure water and a brush....its not your problem.

I have a few windows that do the same just in one patch...one actually looks like a crack in the glass as soon as its wet...I actually thought I'd cracked it the first time I cleaned it!they look fine when dry...

You could always just trad them. Less then a min patio door and they will be water droplet free ?
