since i have stoped talking about h&s, ladder safety etc there has been other guys posting up about it! lol looks like all my posts have got some guys thinking and posting up the info they find on h&s.

keep up the good work and keep safe guys!!

Talking of H&S, turned up to clean a house today and it's not big but I use wfp on rear 2 large windows as they're real tall panes and ladder on rest so takes a bit longer getting stuff out putting back etc. A Sky installer pulls up at same time as me and whilst he was, wait for it... getting his fancy roof rack down, taking off his ladder, putting his fancy roof rack back, putting on his helmet, putting on his harness, taking his ladder round next door to where I was, fetching his drill, drilling the wall, taking his drill back, attaching his safety device to said wall, putting his ladder up and attaching that to safety device, put knee pads on for some strange reason, I'd knocked got paid and ****** off and never saw him even put a foot on his ladder.

yer thats what sky has to do to comply with there h&s. but knee pads??? why???

yer just a bit, can see the point of a few of the things like helmet just in case he didnt fit the dish on right and it fell off on him,

its just the knee pads that gets me! i cant see any reason for them unless he has bad knees and when he leans on the ladder they hurt him.

Dunno mate, like I said thought it strange but yeah that could be one reason.

Or he just thought **** it in for a penny in for a pound lol

lol next it would of been elbow pads, shine pads, sholder pads etc! lol

Lol maybe we should all walk around in bubble wrap suits, you know, just in case
I know right.......h-s just drives me nuts after the obvious basics. Fairplay.....we should look out for ourselves and others. But there is risks in normal everyday life, Hey....just getting out of bed is a risk, espically if you sleep on a bunkbed!/emoticons/wink.png

I know what you mean the sky guy who fitted my sky dish had to drill a hole in the wall to brase his ladder. He said if his boss checks it and the hole with Wall plug is not in the wall they get sacked. Maybe sky have had a big clime against them. So now the h/s is over kill.
