I am building my round from my house outwards

but you just have to factor how long the drive took... its all about TIME... YOUR TIME... time to clean, get there, get back.. its also best if you have 1 5 miles away then prehaps spend time getting a few more in that area to make it worthwile. simple

I agree about the time, There a lot more to pricing than going up to a house and looking at it and giving a price. What about all the other time you spend doing business stuff, phone calls, collecting do you factor that in to pricing? If your way works for you that good. I plan on changing they way I price though.

I'll go along with that Marc, my prices have got to go up.
 
The thing is bumping prices up by a couple of quid doesnt do you any favours !!

You guys should have priced up to keep them not orice them up and regret the price you have given .

Thats my theory anyways and that is how i work i price mine to keep and price them so i dont have to put them up .

The customers i have on my books not 1 job i turn up to and think damn i could have gotten more or i wonder if i put my price up

Will they cancel .

Im more than happy with the prices im getting and i will probably be happy with these prices for the next 5 yrs .

Dont under sell yourselves guys !

 
I never have Gav, most still won't pay higher but I'll just move on to the next one. I'd still do cheap and plenty cos can still make the money but decided to take Richards advice instead.

 
i have read this thread, and well I must be doing something wrong. lol

So instead of pricing how long it will take to do the job itself, you price it on other factors too like insurances, tax, fuel, time getting there, and doing the job etc?

Then your profits will go down if you dont take enough work on. Fuel, Insurance, other business expenses rarely get cheaper. Keeping prices the same for 5 years is sily in my opinion but if your still happy with those prices in 5 years its all good lol

People wont expect there window cleaning price to stay the same either.

I'm not saying don't take on more work I'm just saying the way I have priced my jobs I am happy at the way they are .

I suppose I could put my prices up but at the moment I am more than happy with what I'm getting

I have also taken on 3 more customers on 1 round today too so I must be doing something right ???

Well today's 3 worked like this .

1st customer I canvassed when I started

2nd customer mother of first customer

3rd customer daughter in law of the 2nd customer lol

I have also fell on an estate where there has been no windy for 18 months he just stopped coming .

2 reasons for that,

Bad payers or he couldn't hack the winter months lol, lets hope its the later

Ya must be mate, I'm same as Graham most round me look at ya gone out if ya say more than a fiver (I do charge more) but I'm walking straight past em now and going on to the next person. I don't do too bad to say I don't knock doors, saying that though gonna start knocking soon. Ya learn by ya mistakes.

Knocking will defo get a fair bit of extra business

 
Oh yeah, not felt the need to push but getting the itch now and have said wanna be full time early in new year but need a lot more custies (or not if I get em at right price).

I reckon its the thought of them saying that causes you not to go, I know this is the case with me that and I find it degrading I dont know why, I just do lol.

It does work and it is the best way to get customers quickly
