If you look at the doc Gav put up about ladders it says they are not reccomended? Which to me means yes are ok but not reccomend.

Class three is fine not breaking the law, been told at window cleaning shop where I live(proper shop and they have a massive window cleaning round so know what talking about)

Ladders with red feet are fine(which is what I have) but ones with yellow feet are better.

Many windys use class 3 as are lightweight.

class 3 isnt reccommended for long everyday use, as they are the weakest ladder going and not build for it. plus you are not covered on insurance if you do use them.

RC like I said it aint illegal to use them!

My insurance, which is more then just public liability! does not tell me which ladders I should or shouldnt use as to void insurance??

All my ladders are all trade class but have black or blue rubber feet so always best to check the class sticker on the ladder rather than what colour feet they have.

its not illegal or legal to use them for trade,

the isurance companys will use this as a get out clause if you have an accedent on them, as they are not ment to be used for trade. class 3 are for dommestic use only.

Where can I get cheap, lightweight class 2 or 1 ladders from then?

am 9 1/2 stone the ladders wont collapse under my weight any time...

plus if I used class 2 or 1 they would be too heavy for me...

depends what size you need really,

class ones are heavy, class 2 not as bad,

you will notice the diffrence if you walk alot with them
