Any windies from Hampshire, Southampton area? Just wondering what an average price would be for a 3 bed semi would be? Also how much do you guys charge for facias, gutter cleans and pvc cladding etc.

I suppose the correct answer would be as much as you can get away with to gain the work /emoticons/biggrin.png

Very true smurf lol. if you can ask how much the customer used to pay before that sometimes works. I am from just outside Bristol and usually £1 per average sized window usually works out well.

With respect you will need to find out either from potential customers as suggested or from doing further research yourself as I can't see local window cleaners on here letting on how much they charge.

hi ya £12-15is a decent price for a 3 bed semi a bit more if its got a conservetery, if you are a trad cleaner remember you will have at least 3 moves of the ladder on the bay window fronted houses, i am north london

You don’t think there are window cleaners charging more than you, in your part of the world harunh.

The grass is always greener for some down South as well.

Richard, is your book, which I am currently reading, based on your own system? Do you now work less for more?

Steve

Hi Steve, I window less because I’m busy with the brushes, I hope next year to have more time with window cleaning and build/refine the work.

Yes/no? We all work, I just choose to work for a higher hourly rate; I do use how the customers are priced and the time to clean (service if there are obstacles to slow you down), together. I start by looking at my hours available for window cleaning, and then I replace customers when necessary to keep the hourly rate up. (Get out of the habit of taking on new customers who lower your price – you know what I mean -)

I don’t look at it as working less, but I am always trying to achieve a better rate, saying that you must remain competitive with your prices. I do this by a number of different ways, the obvious is cleaning method and to use the correct brush – or at least a clean brush! (That’s another book)

When you have read the (pricing) book, you will know there are a number of ways to approach how you can increase the profit. Spend a little time putting a plan together, if it’s not working or not working fast enough, change it, but give yourself time at least 12 months.
