Got me thinking, the UV's I have are the strip ones and they give off a little heat as well. IBC's would let the UV light through so enclosed and insulated might solve 2 problems. Like I said though I'll look into it some more, it's just an idea.

Just getting back to the serious bit, don't you think it would be a good idea to put up ,as a sticky, a thread about this with the possible ways of dealing with it? Regardless of whether folk think its scaremongering, it would surely be a good piece of info for people to read? Couldn't really use this David Niven and Peter Sellers have hi jacked it! And the thread wasn't initially about legionnaires, it was one of jeffs innovative ideas!
