Personally, I would go the intelligent leisure battery charger if I were you. Halfords have them. Can anyone give any advice on a leisure battery charger for a 75AH leisure battery,
Im at a complete loss as to which one to buy. does anyone have any reccomendations .. please.
DC,
Like RC has asked. Why wouldn't you also want a SCR connected up as well?dont want it charging off the van battery, want it separate, so need a charger
thanks anyway
Yer this is why I have a solar panel trickle charger on it to help to keep leisure battery topped up a bit as this is always charging as soon as it light, so at weekends when I'm not using pumps it has 2 good days of charge.Like RC has asked. Why wouldn't you also want a SCR connected up as well?
A SCR for me is probably a waste of time TBH but I still have one as a backup. It usually takes us 10 minutes to work and back, so the SCR doesn't replace much of what we take out during the day (14 amps out - 2.5amps in from alternator). My first leisure battery suddenly started to fail after 3.5 years and found I could let the engine run to charge it enough for each house while I waited for a replacement to come the next day.
Leisure battery's are designed for continuous use and recharging.why not just use a normal car battery as well
