hi ya, i have no land line number on my flyers as i do not have one /emoticons/smile.png i have a mobile number an email address and the find us on face book logo, i txt my custermers and they text me it works ok, the ? is would my flyers work better for me with a landline on them or not ?........pete

Get on of those 0845 numbers or a 0800 number both can be diverted to a mobile. The also give of the impression of a bigger / professional company in my opinion

I don't think it should be a problem. It is more professional in my opinion if you have land line, but I don't think it will affect how much work you get from your flyers as much as you might think.

There are loads of services out there, like land line numbers for mobile, 0800's as previously stated, but IMO its an expense that you don't need. If you do get a land line installed in your home, use that if you want, but if not, then carry on with the mobile.

Cost of a monthly land line is more than the monthly cost of a 0845 number I believe, depending on the lenth of phone calls the 0800 number could be cheaper too

With land lines, you can get deals with free evenings and weekend calls. Also the area code, shows that your a local company. That can be a selling point. Imo especially with residential customers, they will want someone local, and a 0800 number can give the impression that you are not.

Also I think it is a common conception that 0800 numbers are expensive to call. Allot of mobile networks don't allow 0800 numbers as part there call allowance packages as well, which would put customers off.

Another point is that customers might not realise they can txt your number, if you mask it will an 0800.

pros and cons to it, like anything else I suppose.

There is talk about making 0800 numbers free for mobiles too to avoid confusion with costs.

Im not saying only have an 0800 number, I have both added. People love to text lol got to have a mobile number there.

The impression of a larger company could also be bad, some of my customers like that I'm a local lad and one person changed to me because if it!

Maybe to some people, its not the same for every person though.
Yep, totally agree. I wouldn't really bother with commercial unless I had a land line for example. You can't please them all!

A mobile is fine /emoticons/smile.png but if u have a good mobile number such as 07507 007 007 it makes u look more professional then having a number that is sonething like : 07540 761 509 , thats why i got a very good number /emoticons/smile.png it makes up for no landline num etc

hi ya, as a one man band and just aiming at the local domestic custermers i am not interested in 0800 numbers to make my outfit sound bigger , i was just trying to get feed back to see if having a land line would increase the response rate from my flyers, ........pete

I think it would, just my opinion though

I don't have a landline number. I don't find it a problem, as no one has actually asked if I have one when they see my mobile number on my leaflets.

Indeed, most calls I get are from mobiles. Out of the 100+ customer numbers I have, probably 95%+ are mobiles.

Only old folk seem not to like phoning mobile numbers so should not be a real issue in today’s world but for me I prefer to have both.

However don't know about you lads but I've defo seen an increase in travellers going around with sign written vans ripping ppl off so maybe ppl's perceptions on just displaying mobile numbers is changing. No address on websites, flyers etc may also ring alarm bells for some so if you run a legitimate cleaning business then your address should be on all promotional media, paperwork and website too in my book.

The address for my old company was just a PO box number, then the postie delivered a bundle of cheques every morning to the office. Not sure what it takes to get a PO Box but id rather that than my home address.

As for a landline number, I only have a mobile on my flyers but would prefer a landline aswell.

Hmmm I'm running with a mobile to start with, I do have a LL but its not got a phone plugged in, If I could have a LL phone that didn't make a noise when it rang, and then just allow it so people can leve a message, then I can call then bk, because I wouldn't want the LL to wake up the kids when they napping lol
