well winter snuck up faster than expected. I got caught out on Friday morning with my diesel van, it took a HOUR to start.... but at least I figured out my coils need replacing so I will get that done.

then I found that it was FREEZING in the van... my heater is **** so I have bought a small ebay heater that fits in the cigarette lighter (£10) and also one of my poles had frozen pipes, to combat this I found a tesco greenhouse heater for http://www.tesco.com/direct/gardman-greenhouse-and-conservatory-heater/205-1624.prd

cheaper than other heaters and has a frost settings and a 1KW setting (so saves money when leaving it running all night)

I was going to buy a cheap fish tank heater but I found that it will only heat the water and really you need the whole van warm so the poles and pump are not frozen.

my water filter is in the house so no issues there and I have a 1000 L tank outside but not bothered about that in London, I just keep it full, its going to have to be -10 or -20 to freeze 1000L of water and in london I dont see it happening...

well I hope not.

another way of stoping you pole frezzing up it to empty all the water out of the pipe when not in use!
