Not One Of My Better Days

Was out and about today clearing gutters & extra quotes then on the way home my van started to make a terrible nose.

Took it to the local exhaust place I use and the bloke took a look & said the pipe had snapped going into your back box. We will have to replace the whole middle bit including the cat.

Always the way as thought I was having a great day until then /emoticons/sad.png

I got a sports exausts on my car, I did a decat on my car taking all the cats out apart from the first one, took out back boxs and added a straight through pipe etc

Diesel, so not that loud, just faster /emoticons/smile.png

Sorry to hear that, that has happened, hope you get sorted out soon, just got my car back, so happy its sorted, so much anxiety with not being able to work lol.

True dodger - was told would take less than 20 mins but the price to get it replaced was a bit of a shock.

Will have to get it sorted first thing tomorrow morning as I've a full day booked in which is always the way when something goes wrong.

Thanks mucker,...so how does your car pass an mot with no cats fitted?

Not had an MOT since, but it will pass!

Like I said still has one cat, just took out everything else.

Its not smoking so should pass with ease

You dont need any cats, diesels don't have an emission test on the mot, just a smoke test... So long as the egr is blanked and the injectors are kept clean it'll be fine.

N it is true, non of my diesels before had anything. All straight pipes from the manifold back and all passed.

Not got roun to changing the mondeo over yet, but will when it rotts.

Give u an example: mondeo smoke test reading with all boxes n cats fitted was .12 the limit is 1.50 /emoticons/smile.png
