What Gear Have You Got

Ok I will start

Used a 7hp 3000 psi 8 lpm petrol pressure washer when first started which was good with a turbo but found it very slow on block pavers.

Now use a 14hp 3600 (variable) psi 15 lpm petrol pressure washer which is alot quicker on block pavers.

So hp, psi & flow rate does make a huge difference in working more productive.

ive got a 2800 psi petrol one 8lpm not the best but does the job only comes out about 1-2 times a month at the min thinking of getting a telescopic lance for it to use on gutter and fascia anyone done anything similar?

ive a 3600 psi 21lpm 14hp loncin washer ,its very powerfull and speeds up jobs,im using a telescopic lance i got from jetmac , they have an ebay shop i think it was around 150. one thing is dont blast to close as it can damage the soffit and guttering very easily , i normally only use it on detached houses and bigger houses as doing the small mid terrace ones can be done quicker by wfp and a chem

how long does it take you to do a 3 bed semi detached with it I vac the gutters first then just wan the lance to clean down to save time rather than using wfp

i spray on ubix 2000 and leave for 10 mins then a quick scrub with the wfp brush then a blast of the telescopic , time wise including the gutter vac can be from 2 and a half hours to 3 hours ,if its white upvc and its manky then obviously longer

I have 3 rotory surface cleaners whirlaway 18", Dirtdevil !8" & 14" but found no good using them on block pavers.

I've also got a 7m telescopic lance too but hardly ever use it as found it a nightmare to use as far to wippy and heavy.

Nice one,...That will be my next one to get to add to my collection as 21 lpm I've heard is a lot better than 15 lpm on some jobs /emoticons/wink.png

I have 2 powerwashers, both Honda 13hp one with a Cat 66 pump (4000psi 18lpm) brilliant for every job , pump is 6 years old and gets used 3 to 4 times a week , change the oil in engine and pump once a month and its ultra reliable , quality gear.

My other Honda has an Interpump pump, use this for drain cleaning as its very powerful 21lpm 4000psi , engine is 7 years old and never missed a beat, pump is 2 years old and oil is changed monthly regardless of use, had a comet pump on it before which i rebuilt and keep as a bolt on spare in the van.

Couple of tips with these powerwashers, always carry a spare plug and recoil unit , basically look after em they look after you

I have a 21" whirlaway, only use it on large flat concrete jobs, not good enough on lockblock, you cannae beat a turbo nozzle and resanding it for client, bought i extendng lance and its sat in shed since years , makes more mess than its worth, too whippy and breaks your back , dont like em

My fave bit of gear is my turbo nozzles , you just got tae have 2 or 3 in your van lol , for gutters i get on ladders , tried the gutter vac and resold it , just not clean enough for me and my clients.

Very nice bit of kit indeed donny /emoticons/wink.png Do they have reduction gearboxes too?

My wheelie bin van has a 13hp Honda with a reduction gearbox and its 7 years old and never missed a beat, i found they reduced the psi too much for powerwashing though, at end of day just alter the revs using the throttle and just use what you need , i very rarely use full throttle with my 13hp engines so they are very reliable anyway, 90 % of my jobs im on half throttle anyway /emoticons/smile.png So no i dont use em for power washing

gutter vacs are good they just take a bit of getting use to I struggled with mine at first but after making some different nozzle for it ( angled, crevice and a angled crevice just cut a section of pipe down rather than spending £35 a nozzle) and adding a camera its spot on now takes me about 15-20 mins to do a semi detached

depends what hp it is to what size (psi & flow rate) pump you could use.

you do need a large motor to drive high psi & high flow rate pump.
