In the new yr I'm going to be hitting this business hard !!

Now I'm in 2 minds of what to do ?

Should I go full steam ahead on my own and aim for 4 days full work per week .

Or

Partner up with someone else get more work and share the hassle .

I'm only looking for 4 days per week on my own so I don't take on more than I can handle .

Do you guys think partnering in this type of work is suitable or just go it alone ?

Yeah go alone buddy, used to have a partner with me but didnt pull his weight so brought him out, he used to moan about the cold the heat, everything! Go on ya own mucka u know where u stand and u aint gotta split cash wiv no one

and i'd say go alone dude, all the cash is yours then, if you need to expand by employing people then do that when your business is ready.

Yeah definitely go it alone, for now buddy. If you share the hassle, you'll share the profits too, and they may not be as committed. Better wait and employ someone once your full.

I would stick on you own , 4 days good work and you will earn more than enough to pay the bills
Well if I can get it up to what my best day pays I will be happy ?

At the moment it's at £170 and I can hit that quite comfortably on me todd so im hoping to hit £700 a week or there about's .

What you reckon about that ?

Lad I got has started letting me down lately. Built up enough work 4 to of us but now he's started letting me down I can't keep up on my own esp this time of year. May look to go back on my own in new year & get rid of some **** ones & just have enough work for myself. It's a lot easier & not letting customers down. The other downside is if its a **** day & you can't get a lot done you still gotta pay him. Keep it alone mate is my advise.

I was working this way, which I found was horrible, trying to make profits in weeks we got a good couple of days rain, and still having to pay contracted hours. However I changed my employees contracts, so that there days were not fixed, and they just had to work them on the days we could get out. I guarantee there contracted hours, in the event that they cant complete there hours due to bad weather.

They get a bit of flexibility which lets them work hours that suit them, and I get my hours in each week. Its works really well over the summer, we work 3.5 days workings 8-6 on the full days, and cram the hours in, so we get the rest of the week off, which I like. We usually do 97.5 hours a week between the three of us. Over the winter it can be difficult, just there We worked 9 days straight without a day off, because we were at times only getting out for a few hours.

This is a disadvantage to it, if you get your hours in one week, on the last say, 4 days due to bad weather at the start of the week. Then the week starts again, and the weather is good at the start of the week, you are working the following 4 days as well. So 8 days without a day off. Thankfully its rare it works out like that. Plus after our 9 day marathon there, we got 4 straight days off, which was great, and very much needed.

At your current stage, I would have thought keep 100% ownership of the business yourself.

A Window cleaning business is probably better suited in most cases for Ltd and not a partnership. If you do want a business ‘partner’ what does he/she bring to the table? And what percentage of the business is that worth?

You should have put him on a 0 hour contract mate.

''Working hours - You will be paid at the agreed rate for the hours that you work. For the avoidance of doubt, this is a zero hour contract and you will not be paid on those days where there is no client work to undertake, or, unforeseen circumstances prevent you from working, for example inclement weather, equipment breakdown etc.''

If you employ someone you need to be very strict on the interviews and remember there is more people that want jobs than positions you have so it gives you the advantage to choose and make sure you he the right person /emoticons/smile.png

Go your own mate unless the new partner brings in a few grand to the table for u to get a wfp van /emoticons/wink.png

Im in negotitations with someone at the moment to work for me canvassing for new work .

Going down the 0 hr work but pay a percentage on confirmed and cleaned leads .

What do you guys reckon on this ?

Or commission based pay.

Good Idea.. I have though about doing something like this my self. I don't trust anyone to price houses for me though. I would rather they just go knock the doors and if someone interested ill pop down and see them. Now after typing this ive realised it does sound like a good idea haha
