Whats Best Wfp Or Trad?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Iv been told from using wfp their windows look cleaner! Its just as easy to leave a little mark trad as it is to with wfp.
except its not is it? im more likely to notice a small mark when im 2 inches from the glass then you are from 20ft below.

im getting cheese off right now becouse my tradional cleaning is costing more replacement alloy pole just cost me 18 quid including vat and then all the cleaning for the scrims and cloths and water and cleaner.

i think i will go wfp all the accept thoes what i do inside

iv all ready got the equipment just i think it will save me time and money

Just put your rags in when u do a clothes wash, honestly mate trad is a lot less in overheads than wfp
Personally I would lol,

Just because you'll be picking bits off for ages, and detergent is not good for scrims

But a quick wash with a little squirt of washing up liquid is fine and costs like 28p or something silly lol.

Also build up your collections of clothes so that your only doing a wash once a week lol there cheap enough

Yer I like trad and the idea of doing it trad but ill be buying a trolley system for Connie's and for a few 3 level houses (there is a fair few in my area)

But mainly be trad

Over the years there has been thousands of ppl (worldwide) changing over to doing wfp aswell as doing trad for some suitable jobs.

Wonder why that is folks?

its down to many factors, including the tightening of health and safety, the increased availability of the new systems, the increased marketing of wfp systems, the lack of traditional skill of some, the 'make as much as poss' mentality of others, etc, etc, etc.

however, its not down to wfp being better then trad, so i dont see the point of your post?

Indeed I would not say one is better than the other but wfp does have a lot of advantages over trad in many cirumstances. Like any good tradesmen you need the option of using different tools for the job also may I add you are only as good as the last job you did.

wfp splash & dash merchants springs to mind that gives wfp a bad name. Also there are some that do poor trad work too.

Totally agree with needing both options and needing to know how to use both properly!!!!

only reason id like to get a WFP back pack is due to most houses round me having daft canopy's cant get near upstairs windows even with a stand of nightmare,so dont do them if i had the WFP option i could do these houses.

im trad and it costs me around £5 a month to run thats rubbers and washing up liquid.i already have tons of cloths.

What!!!!

Have u never returned next month and seen a wee grey mark anywhere? There's times I'm 2 inches away from glass and don't notice a mark till I'm halfway down the ladder!!

At different angles and light on glass you can notice marks that you did not see before.

well thats the point, i generally clean the window, checking for the little marks as i detail, i then look up at the window as im climbing down to double check as the light changes. you dont/cant do that with wfp so i stand by my comment

Indeed up close and personal you will see what you are doing better. However I would say that wfp if done correctly will dry out to a high enough standard that customers will be happy with the results.

I've won plenty of work from ppl that have said one or more thing below about there old trad window cleaner

did not clean corners properly

did not clean window frames

did not clean doors frames

left streak marks on glass

could not clean all my windows

broke tiles while clambering about

And the best one so far to date was - He gave up window cleaning as fell off his ladder.

But to be honest I'm sure trad guy's have won work from wfp guy's doing bad work too /emoticons/biggrin.png

Yes we have. I've had loads that have come to me from a wfp guy.

Main things are:

Spotting

Water lines

Soaking wet seals that drip on bottom windows.

Windows wet??

Water getting between double glazing seals

Water getting through vents.

Yep that's just about covers them all posh for wfp and trad but think we have missed one out /emoticons/wink.png

You have scratched my windows /emoticons/biggrin.png

Lol yes sorry about that, was it our soft bristle or the rubber that scratched it.

Customers can be fickle don't you know whatever methods you chose to use. Some just plainly try it on too and sadly others are just raving bonkers.
