How Much Would You Charge To Clean This

a everyday window cleaner wouldnt do no, i wouldnt do, but if a h&s officer did a risk assesment of that job them they would say that half the road would have to be shut off to protect the workers.when you have and go on all the training like the large cleaning companies have to go on by law to comply with all this stuff then you would understand what im going on about, its the diffrence between a one man everyday window cleaner and a company that employees loads of people and deal with £10,000's contract,

like a firm in the next town to me they havejust priced a £750k a year contract and in september they won a contract for £600k a year, at the moment they are pricing up these:-
so no domestic window cleaner would/could shut down a street/road in order to clean someones windows then, which is what we were talking about, thats what you said, remember? so why did you even say about it in the first place? by going into all this **** about commercial work your just clouding the issue, i told you i agreed on the commercial side of things, but you insist on talking sh**e and then backtracking and changing what you originally said. its actually getting boring

I know what the right thing to do is but I wouldn't do it because it would take to long, to costly and not worth the hassle, but I know if anything happened then I would be screwed, it's the risks we all take.

the fact that it would take too long and cost too much means you wouldnt have to do it, as economics and the short duration of work are considering factors of risk assesments etc, as you well know.

it just annoys me that you post something about ';how its supposed to be done' when even you admit its completely un-feasible. a newbie will come on here, read the post from 'the health and safety god' and then think that they need to start applying to have roads closed etc.

its misleading and i believe you only post this stuff to make it seem like you know everything, when clearly you dont have a clue

To comply to the H&S law it is ment to be done to make every worker safe during work, even if it take 5 minutes to do the job and 20 minutes set up time.

As for not having a clue, your wrong, that's why I went on training to find out about all this. It's the everyday window cleaner that don't know about all the stuff that you have to do to comply with h&s and to protect the business that you work so hard to build up, you could be doing all that hard work for 10years then have that one thing happen and you could loose the hole lot just because you didn't know what the law is.

they close a street down for me in one of my areas' date='they try take yer ladders off you whilst yer up them![/quote']Yer that was different tho, it was the armed police that shut the road off and you was breaking into a house! Lol

no i just know how to use the systems right to get the most out of it. that £100per hour was commercial job but thats only every 3 months. my average is £30-£40

there is one company called 'go clean' we have take some of there work off them due to them not doing a good job, they cleaned a house just before i got to the door to knock on it, knocked on it and asked if they wanted a quote for window cleaning, they said they had just been done, poinrted out all the much that was still left on the wet door, and other bits they missed, she said there was 2 guys that did it and only there for 5 minutes!

you only charge so much so you can afford all the new H&S mags lol

you must pull a fantastic wage every week you?

how do you fit all the other services you do in?i find it very hard in the summer my grass cutting round takes most my time up.

lol yer they do cost a bit! lol

yer it can be, some days upto £300, but its not all about the money.

i go out price up the job sort it out, then get someone else into do it, pay them a wage and i get some too for doing the paper work!

unless its peeing it down with rain then i do it, so dont really miss out on a day if the works there!

yer know i find it very hard getting landscape jobs paving and decking everybody wants it but the price of materials always messes it up they nearly have heart attack and ill be only charging £90 a day labour...

now when i get asked i dont even bother with it say no dont do it anymore i earn more money cutting hedges and grass.and dont have to work quotes out for hours.
