Resistance Or % Of Quotes Accepted...

O

OoO

Was thinking about this over Christmas. I would say 95 - 100% of quotes we give we get. This got me thinking we are too cheap...

I have made a price structure for everyone to work from and today it was tested by me lol.

It started of as semi detached at X they had an extension so I added Y and they never had a conservatory so didn't add Z

It worked out to be £4 more than we would normally charge and I even thought about reducing the price before I said it.

Anyway I stuck to my price and I got Resistance. Something that I haven't got in well years! SO I explained why it was that much, etc etc.

As luck would have it, dad drove past in one of the vans. That further sold the job /emoticons/biggrin.png

They were over the moon with the clean are now on the round. Next door wanted a quote and I used the same structure. They are getting back to me, something that again hasn't happened for years!

So guys what % of quotes do you give and get?

Do you get any resistance on the price?

Don't even know what you mean about resistance? Lol..

Very very rarely I would not get the job when pricing.. So I'd say 99% of the time..

As you said if you are getting % 95 to % 100 of the jobs you quote you are too cheap .

You have got to work smarter not harder an extra couple a quid on every new house works out that you may

Have to do 1 less house for every 5 or 6 new houses you get .

Yeah i get about 99% of quotes i give out so def something to think about, get the odd one resist but once i give a price i dont budge, i usually tell them cause its all rural work (my reidential round) i have to factor petrol cost into the quote and as theres never really any cleaners out in the sticks they end up surrendering! lol

I may have spelt it wrong lol. I mean a customer saying its expensive, XYZ cleaner only charged XYZ. Any discounts available.....

If you are getting 99% like me you are to cheap.

I do have some cheap houses that I'm having a debate on what to do with.. But I looked at my book a few days ago and my last new 7 customers are a total of £175 4/8 weekly.. Iv had before some ask for £1 cheaper and when I said no they said it didn't matter. Have had other say oh that much?

Well done mate, you’ll get to the stage where you will do that amount and then go and get a late breakfast /emoticons/wink.png

I would say that I get around 99% of the jobs I quote. Some may feel that I am too cheap, but my point is that I am happy with what I charge, and if the customer is as well everyone's a winner.

Know exactly what you mean haven't started yet but have already driven areas speaking to people about wot they pay and your right one price tends to creep through an area rather than priced on each house style as there are many differances

I would say i got 99% of the quotes, never actually had anyone say no but some have knocked me down a few quid.

had one this morning that I cleaned for £10 and she gave me £15 and said she would pay 15 each time and I said NO. its only a 2 bed house. Its easy to get extra money but after 3 or 4 months they start thinking its to expensive and drop you, so you have to balance the price right so they think they are getting a good deal and you are getting a good wage.

I get 4/5 jobs when i quote /emoticons/smile.png my prices are cheap aswell !!! I do 3 storey houses @ 8.00 / 8.50 on 1 tound i do them for £7.00 but thrir all next door to eachother and i do 3 x 7.00 in 1 hour /emoticons/smile.png

Just to put the other point of view in the interests of balance. If you go in too high they may accept it because they want their windows cleaned but then you are vunerable to them just biding their time till they can find somebody cheaper.

A few years ago there were a number of window cleaning franchises that just seemed too good to be true, the figures for expected earnings they gave out to the mugs who took out the franchises were very high. It was all based on this idea that you don't sell yourself short, you charge a premium price for a premium service etc etc

To the best of my knowledge they all fell flat on their faces, the franchisees disappeared and so did the companies. Charge a sensible price but don't get greedy. Its a hard balance to find.
