Again use a local supplier a quick search on FB should find you a company with a good reputation, I have used the same one for well over 5 years now and I wouldn't use anyone else.

Definitely a no-no in my books, sending a text is the easiest thing to do I also have the codes to some gates.

Nope I do agree it dosent sit right with me but I have been tempted to open some then lock them rather than use ladders to climb over.

    Slx or phantom poles?

I started with an SLX22, never had an issue with it. Never had a clamp come loose. Never maintained it. Brought a phantom on the release date (25ft 3k version) so it’s approx 8 months old. Treated it the same is the SLX and I’d say it’s worn a bit better - not a great deal but the wear is even, instead of leaving a line down the middle like the SLX seemed to. It doesn’t hold grit like the Gardiner clamps/pole sections seem to either. I do like the clamps, in use they don’t feel much different to the Gardiner clamps. Yes they are easy to change but bear in mind they will need nipping up periodically - easy enough to do with an Allen key but a PITA if you don’t have one on the van!!! The plastic seems better ‘quality’ on the phantom clamps, this is noticed as you can actually remove the gooseneck which has never got jammed like it did constantly on the Gardiner poles, I don’t know if it’s the plastic that’s able to absorb moisture or the change in supplier and the tolerances were slightly off but overall the clamps are of a better quality in my opinion. I know a couple of cleaners that brought the phantom and went back to Gardiner’s (@Kevinc250 is one). My next pole will be a phantom - more likely the hi-mod version though as I’m getting a bit old and fatigued nowadays!!!

Personally I would suggest you visit your local school uniform supplier. You get to check out the quality of the clothing before buying it, you get to check out the embroidery/printing & also you're supporting a local business at the same time. I did this & received great service.

Jeez man! No way! You can't seriously consider picking customers gate locks, surely? Unless you're willing to be marched by the collar into a police car. Can you imagine the repercussions in your local Facebook Mafia conversations, and the damage to your reputation? You don't mean any harm to your customers but they would be furious I'd think. I would be and it would be the last time on my property. I would not hand anyone the ammunition to blacken your name. That's two of us advising against it. The final decision is yours of course. 🙂

Luckily I don't need to pick them, if the customer forgets to leave the gate or door open I just use my master key,

I think you just have to be squeeky clean at all times. If you were a skilled safe cracker you would be a prime suspect every time a safe is broken into. A few years ago we cleaned a house for a single guy. He had been a customer for a year or so. He always promised to pay on the internet but we had to go back each week but he was never in. We cleaned that house on the Friday and we later found out that he had been burgled over the weekend and they cleared his house out. He was away in Spain for a long weekend so the thieves had plenty of time. When he got back and found what had happened he called the police. He told us the following week when we went to collect what had happened. He said the first question the police asked is if he had a window cleaner. "Yes". "What's his name?" "I don't know but he cleaned the windows on Friday and left his slip. His name's on it with his telephone number." The police officer looked at the slip and immediately said, "Its not them, I'm not even going to bother talking to them. Are you on Facebook?"

It is surprising how many people think they have securely locked their gate when in reality they haven't. I'm not going to go into why on here, but suffice to say, if I have a way of getting passed a locked gate then I usually let the customer decide whether they mind me doing it. Some will and some won't. I've lost customers over misunderstandings in this regard in the past. I have to say that most haven't seemed to mind as long as they know how I'm doing it.

I wouldn't. If a gate is locked and our A frame ladder will straddle it then that's what we do. If it doesn't then we phone ahaed for the gate to be left unlocked. If the gate was left locked then we just do the fronts. Being able to pick a lock is a skill I believe you should keep to yourself. You could get blamed for something you weren't involved in. That's my honest opinion. They could then think you picked their front door lock and stole this and that.

  20. So, after loosing my key to the shed padlock and studying many you tube videos I’m now in the position to open most basic padlocks with paper clips , question is should i , or would you , apply this to locked gates on the round and re lock them afterwards

No, I think that for the rinse bar technique you want as much water as possible coming out of the rinse bar, if you connect jets too then you're halving the flow from the rinse bar Might work with the 16 jet.
  28. Quote: My water comes up with 104mg but not sure what TDS that actually is? I'm not sure what the 'mg' you are referring to. Water quality is usually measured in PPM (parts per million) The device we use to measure it is referred to as a TDS (total dissolved solids) Meter (usually costs about £15) Zero parts per million which is what we aim to clean with, reads as (.000) on the meter Quote: How long roughly does your 25 litre last for? 1 house half house The more experienced you get the less you will use. For me 25L usually lasts about 30 minutes and I'm working almost constantly as I have a very compact round. I can normally do about three small unmodified 2 or 3 bed terraced houses in that time. By unmodified I mean no conservatory but may include a small front porch and or a small set of French doors at the back You will use a lot of water at first. This is normal as you get rid of excess dirt and old dried soap residue from the window surrounds. Once this is removed you will naturally use less. Then as you continue to develop your technique you will come to use even less. I probably use only one third of what I used when I started. It's very noticeable on my water bill
