  1. Past hour
  2. I have had several over the years , if the boiler stops working it could be the battery voltage is too low ionics have a habit of not putting batteries on there systems with a highenough amp hour I have 2x 180 amp batteries on mine and never have a problem . Point 2 it could be a fuel starvation as they might have connected the fuel line in the wrong pipe and this will also cause it not to run I think this maybe your problem I think @dazmond had this issue with his Grippatank one hopefully he will see this and be able to comment , hope you get it sorted out
  3. I haven't yet either, but drawing up an franchise agreement is quite a complicated document. Not something I'd even attempt myself as the consequences of getting it wrong could be quite serious id imagine.. To those who have franchised their business @Green Pro Clean Ltd for instance, did you do all the legals yourself? How much did it all cost if you don't mind me asking?

    Faulty Thermopure System (Ionic System)

I have a funny feeling it’s to do with the fuel system in the Ford. Give Oliver at Grippa a ring as they found a problem with the type of vans fuel systems cutting off when the engine stopped.

    Faulty Thermopure System (Ionic System)

Hi, It points towards the batteries not holding charge possibly caused by not getting a regular charge, running the engine indicates that it has some form of charging system is fitted but is it suitable? The Webasto unit they use is power hungry on start up so are the batteries a suitable size? Get them to put new batteries on and assure you that it has an intelligent form of battery charging.

    Sunglasses looking for recommendations

I get the darkened protection glasses from tool station. They are the lightest (in weight) glasses you’ll ever rest on your nose. They aren’t too dark either, meaning you can keep them on even in the shady areas of the house. And the best part of all? There around £3 a pair 😎

You need sunglasses with polarised lenses which cut out the glare, they can be bought cheaply from a fishing tackle supplier, I wear ray-bans which for me wearing prescription glasses are cheaper than no make prescription glasses with polarised lenses.
  9. Hi, i am in need of some assistance please .... Here goes .... A year ago i purchased, brand new, a 800lt Thermopure delivery system from Ionic Systems, Swindon to the total of £12,624 and a bit of shrapnel, i fancied an upgrade and thought that having hot water may benefit my business, i've been in the game for 20 years or so. Since day 1 of having this system it has failed to produce hot water when the van engine is turned off, the system simply begins its start up process then shortly after the voltage drops, a warning light comes on and thats the end of that, no hot water! i have been back and forth to Ionics on 3 separate occasions and they have failed on all accounts to rectify the problem, ive even asked for a full refund and the system be removed which is causing us to now be at logger heads! i am heading to their Swindon depot yet again for them to have another go at fixing it? Has anyone out there experienced any ongoing issues with the Thermopure system? Mine has been fitted into a new 18 plate Ford Transit which i thought would compliment my business, but its having the opposite effect. I will add that if i have the van engine running all the time then the voltage increases and i actually get hot water to work with but i cant afford to keep the van running especially if im working away from it around the back of a premises. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i have had enough of Ionics and their 'bullshit' middle management babble. Thanks in advance Phill
  10. You do realise that the brushes on the poles are made for window cleaning and the brush your using is for the floor. I wouldn't be surprised if you scratched a few windows.

Yeah, makes it easier for you for them. 🙂

    Not got customers phone numbers

Yeah I will do that from now on when canvassing, what I’ll also have to do is when I do catch them (the customers I have) I’ll have to ask for contact numbers to make things easier
  13. The glare on the glass is now getting to me, probably damaging my sight. I lost a pair on a job but they were too dark anyway and I found they would fog up. What's the best type to get for window cleaning? Screwfix seem to have a few on good prices but I don't want to end up with another pair not up to the job so I would be grateful for any recommendations. Chris.
  14. Your the person who struggles with just about everything , WINDOW CLEANING what don’t you follow suit , and am sure you’ll not be on here making posts HELP ME I NEED THIS , I NEED THAT where my arms go my pole goes , no need for extra brushes , maybe double side brush ?? Top and bottom windows done with different sides
  15. I'm new to window cleaning but highly experienced in cleaning in general. I haven't looked into it but I have thought that something using just a brush without a pole would be a lot faster and easier on some downstairs windows. So no handle, just the brush head with a hose attached. Maybe even something like a brush with a 10 inch long handle on one edge of the brush, then you can use the handle just to reach the top edge of the window frame and then flip the brush the other way so the handle runs parallel to your arm and use the brush as if it were a cloth to clean the rest of the window.
  16. Think that sums it up matey. If you take a look at the link i posted in my second reply you'll see that i'm not the only one who had the idea and went with it. On ground floor windows it really does do an awesome job - try it (using a nice new clean brush obviously). If someone has thought of something and you think it's unconventional that doesn't mean it should be scoffed at. Window cleaners were all trad once and then this new water fed pole thing came along. I suspect that made people like you question it too - now it's common place. With that in mind, it's probably best not to dismiss the hand brush idea too quickly I'll post images at some point..

    Not got customers phone numbers

Yeah nothing wrong with asking for their number. Usually just say "what's the best number to get you on incase I need to contact you regarding payment or access". Then if I feel it's appropriate I'll send a text to let them know I'm coming the night before.

    Not got customers phone numbers

I always get their name and contact details. I explain that I need to let them know that I'm coming and I will notify them the evening before. I explain that if they won't be home the gate needs to be left closed but unlocked and the payment hidden out the back. I tell them in a polite, friendly manner that this is what I have to do to get all my work done in an efficient way and that I aim to tie them in with their neighbours schedules. You are new in this business so not too busy yet but when you've built up your round you will see how important it is to be efficient and run a tight, well oiled ship. I understand that starting out you might feel you're being intrusive but you're not you're being professional and efficient. Confidence in dealing with your customers will get easier. 🙂

    Flawed liquidator

How do people find using the ettore rubber in there liquidator?. I find it good rubber and holds tight etc. But because it's inbetween a soft rubber and hard rubber it can easily slip over the windows with paper thin seals leaving a edge of soap down the side. Anybody else find that? Best rubber I have used still moerman atm.

    New extreme 25 pole advice

Hi Jjs Answer 1 - Yes the current SLX Extension #6 that you have will fit on to the handle of the Xtreme25 - however it will be about 6" shorter than the rest of the sections. Answer 2 - The Uni-valve can be used with the Xtreme poles - it is the older Aquadapter that we do not recommend using on these poles. 😊

  24. Hello I have a Bosch AQT 40-13 and the trigger has started leaking on me. This has got me thinking if I could use a generic trigger with standard connections. My question is, are there any adaptors that will allow me to connect the Bosch hose to a regular fitment such as the one in the picture? (sorry I can't think of the proper name). An adaptor like the kind in this video: Thank you Regards, Adam ?

  26. I’ve only been going just over a month but I’m starting to see I should have gotten all customers numbers to send out messages that I’ll be calling next day (tbh I hate asking them for the number it’s feel intrusive) they all have my leaflet, what I am doing is leaving a note in the door of those who are not in saying “hi we came to clean you’re windows, sorry we missed you, I will call tomorrow at x time, please let me know if this is inconvenient” Would that be ok or how would you deal with this?
