How long to build a round ?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

It took me about 2 years to get up to £1500 and that was with a casual attitude to canvassing because its boring. Saying that though, i'm picking about who i work for and have recently made some of my 6weekers into 12. So IMO if you really want it and are prepared to canvass like a madman i recon you could do it in a year.

Well been up and running since beginning of June and wow hardest thing I've done but also the most rewarding job I have had. Almost at 200 regular customers. Made some mistakes but I have learnt from them all. Quit my new job and went for the all or nothing approach lol.

Could be done in a few months with the right work ethic and in the right area, could take a few years if neither of those apply.

Doesnt really matter either way as long as you get there.

The bigger question is what you do after you get there, stay as you are or expand.

For me it's to continue building it up and get a new van as the transit connect is an 04 plate but had to start somewhere. I've stayed away from Commercial jobs for now as I wanted to walk before I could run. That said I've got a few on the books but only to see how I go.. Obviously cash flow is a must at the beginning so waiting for payments wasn't something I fancied at this point.

will take you a while to decide what you want to do. I thought id be happy with a full round. now im cleaning windows everyday its getting a bit boring so will look to employ soon.

I always viewed window cleaning as a business idea rather than a profession. Been looking at other ways to make money recently taht has nothing to do with cleaning. Window cleaning is a great business and can be a great lifestyle business but theres nothing great about cleaning windows all day, everyday imo, but of course its not the worst job in the work either.

I'll be happy to survive my first winter tbf. Going into the unknown abit on that one but I'll keep plugging away at it but windows only for me was never going to be just that.

I had loads of houses way back but now less but higher average with some bigger houses and commercial.

Set a daily target and try and grow that rather than focusing on how many houses is wot I do.

First winter was personally hard cos just a mental shift required I think but plenty of sleep and you should be fine. Sounds daft but nothing worse than being shattered doing this in the cold.

We didn't really have a winter last year, it barely got below freezing and I'd rather work in cooler weather than heat. Summer is probably wetter as well. Worst thing about winter is getting out of bed in the cold and setting off in the dark.

200.......since June is banging! Well done mate. Any bad encounters with other windys while canvassing?

Id say that there is 50 of my regular customers that are under priced but I am sticking with it as it was all part of my learning, plus now they take next to no time to clean tbf. I've had no bad encounters with other window cleaners but I've seen alot of them about since starting... Never noticed any before I was one lol. Other window cleaners do not concern me best of look them, I haven't knocked a single door it was leafleting, Facebook, recommendations and my website. Plus I have a few contacts in student accommodation let's which has produced some great paying work.

Those underpriced can fall in line over time with natural price rises mate. Good going and yep, you never notice windies till you become one.
