Making the day go quicker

Hi guys. I am looking for a way to listen to the radio with headphones whilst I'm cleaning Windows just to help the day go quicker. I have tried an old iPod nano but the battery only last about 5 hrs. I could use my phone but it will use my data and probably use the all the battery again. I just wondered what some of you guys use? Thanks in advance

what about working harder ? ive just sacked i lad for wearing ear phones at work , last year i sacked a lad for using his phone at work . i find customers hate seeing them  maybe just a southern thing

Have just looked on Amazon and found exactly what I need so thanks for that. As for working harder, I work my nuts off everyday, i only ever wear the headphones in 1 ear so that i can hear things going on around me.  As soon as I see a customer approach me I take them out or if a custie happens to be working outside I don't put them in. Oh and I am also down south.

What did you buy?

I download podcasts/ radio shows/ audio books onto my phone and use Bluetooth earphones which are great, save getting tangled up all the time. It also works as handsfree if I get a call. Looking at bone conduction earphones next, as they allow you to hear what’s going on around you better too.

Everyone is different I found in almost 18 years I have never needed to listen to music or podcasts whilst working.

You just need to crack on with your work and the working day should fly by

What’s the best earphones out there that don’t fall out when your working or the best Bluetooth headset?

I bought a Sony fm/am radio from curry’s. Built in speaker so no need for headphones. £15.

As for ‘working harder’, didn’t realise you couldn’t work hard if listening to a radio ?, pub time ?

Prefer using the phone as I have it on me but take the point above about using battery and data but it has everything , radio, iTunes ( I have free until March), podcasts and a few other audio options. But I’d quite happily get by with only radio.

I use my phone with thousands of songs and have bone conducting earphones on. Never had a customer moan once. They curious as to what I have thought.

On the odd day when I work alone, I turn off my radio and get out my old school I pod. I’m often caught by customers singing my head off especially if it’s ska.

I also do language courses (I learnt how to speak Turkish to a reasonable level, not quite fluent) and sometimes will be saying the sentences out loud, turn around to see the customer standing there waiting to pay me thinking I’m bonkers.

In both scenarios it’s always been met with humour and is a good talking point, literally ?

Which earphones do you use? I’m looking for recommendations.

I use a Sandisk Sansa Clip sport and a pair of Koss Porta Pros. Just clip the player to my jacket. They are so light you dont even notice that they are there. The Porta Pros keep your ears warm in this whether as well.

I listen to music / audio books or the radio and have done for as long as I can remember. It's never been an issue with customers and I always keep the level low enogh to hear if someone talks to me. Like another post, if I notice a customer in the garden or am approached by anyone I just slip one earpiece off.
