  • When did you start window cleaning?
  1. I NEED A LOGO making

I've looked into branding quite a bit and just something I have come across is that agcronims BCS as an example won't make people remember your company name but may remind them that they need a window cleaner and they won't remember later on in the day when there typing into Google was it BS or CBS . Just a thought if your going for a new logo maybe a new name to suit your brand is in order . Not all window cleaning logos need to be water droplets or a squeegee. All the best in your New branding Sent using the http://Window Cleaning Forums mobile app

  3. The right van insurance

Good info I have contacted A plan quite a few times and have given them details but they have failed to get back to me . But maybe if I ask for Josh it may help . Sent using the http://Window Cleaning Forums mobile app
  4. Yell.com

It can work mate I got a £360 monthly job off it 2 months ago . If I keep the job it will more then pay for itself. At the same time there are certain areas I'm listed and I get no calls so as a few hints I would help you if you do go for it . Check if there are any sponsored listings there will be 3 main ones for a whole area like 40/50 mile squared area and then also local VIP listings . I think there are 2 of these if there are no sponsored listings for a whole area choose the 3rd sponsored listing as with the 2 others not taking you will appear top and more then likely remain there if other listings aren't taken . To make sure you still get calls if the 2 other spots get taken get a nice picture on there and most importantly reviews as if you have 25 reviews and 2 guys above you have none you will still look like the best option and you will be paying less. The local VIP is also good to just target areas more localised and again taking the 1st local VIP slot will have you first on the page is sponsored listings arent taking. Important to notice is yes Yell as gone through some changes but there is still some Seo juice to be gained by being on it as if there isn't a good Google maps company showing yell tends to be page 1 and pretty high so may be first thing they click and if your on there your the first company they see. For every pound you spend with them as well they will give you a free percentage to use on another area or service . Hope this helps and if you have any questions fell free to Pm me Sent using the http://Window Cleaning Forums mobile app
  5. Your much more likely to convert people to customers by meeting them in person but I understand the pain of going and it not being the right kind of job for you . Come up with some set questions you ask to see if they fit your customer profile perhaps and good one would be depending on distance from you . Prices start from £20 for that size property but to give a quote it's best to come veiw property in person if they say well I only wanted to play £4.50 You say thanks but no thanks .if they say ok then You say what days best suit You for a quote I'm available....to come quote . You go there it's £30 quid job you upsell a gutter f/s clean bang a few doors around about and you have yourself a nice little day out away from the usual grind. . If the person has shown an interest in a regular window cleaner there life time value is high enough to right off some fuel costs . I travel up to 25 miles despite being in a large town as often you with large towns is where you will be competing with many other window cleaners and each of you driving down the price to the gutter . Where as someone who's a bit further afield often can more then cover your fuel costs and just by turning up you will get the job . But it really is what kind of round you want . Stay local have a compact lower priced work or travel and have a higher price less houses but more travel time . As long as you know your figures and make sure your still in the right profit margin your operating radius is limitless . Sent using the http://Window Cleaning Forums mobile app
  6. Paying for water.

I pay 5p a litre for 24 hour access pure ware . If you can guarantee 000 water With decent access I think 4p a litre is fair may be further discount for bulk buying or using more then a certain amount of water per week . Sent using the http://Window Cleaning Forums mobile app
  7. In its basic form a pole.with brush head. A pump, controller hose reel A means to carry pure water . 25l barrels or a baffled tank . Even more simple form Back pack and pole Barrels. You will need to decide what type of pole you would be happy to use as how much your willing to spend and how happy you would be working with a heavier pole all day will have an effect on what you choose . I would say once you start using wfp you will cut down a lot on your trad work and increase your speed in your other work so could be great investment for you Will help with add ons conservatory cleaning facia and soffit cleaning. I would perhaps check with who's given you the contract for caravan park they are happy with this method and in order to do French panes effectively depending on afe style you would want to get a bit of practice in to be able to get a good result. I buy my pure water so can't speak on best way to make it but a good starting point is getting a TDS meter and checking your home water supply this will then give you an idea of what kind of filtration you need to produce water if you so wish . But depends on area a quick Google for pure window cleaning water might supply a local supplier so you could try it out . Hope info helps let me know should you have any questions . 8. Not sure about video but you get sent out instructions when you buy them both and both can be installed on same pole . Sent using the http://Window Cleaning Forums mobile app
  9. If you let us know where you are ? At what point your starting from? No experience no customers? Budget? Fitting it in around your current job . Means of transport if any? I or many other can probably advise . As if your filling a tank up to clean windows it has to be with purified water and buying/making it would then have to be part of your plan . 10. Business cards

No problem Sent using the http://Window Cleaning Forums mobile app
  11. Yes tubeless allows you disconnect from bottom of pole when it's not extened and shorten pole if needed . Uni-valve connects to bottom of pole once you have installed it on your pole hose . Sent using the http://Window Cleaning Forums mobile app
  12. Business cards

Hi Ashley my thoughts on the matter . For a little extra you could design a small flyer with your logo/design put your services and a box beside for price on back and use this as a card to hand out . It looks 100 times better then a little card where you end up just saying a price or scribbling it on the blank space. I've used this approach in my company and often see my flyer I use think paper/card with one sided gloss finish stuck on people's fridge . Put a picture of you or your van on the front create a relationship with your new customers and old ones where it's not just a name on a card or a little business card. It's great for quotes and for canvassing If you still decide to go for business card . I would recommend simple clear design . Make window cleaning as big as possible put your number name and facebook/website link If your handing it to someone they more then likely know your a window cleaner... so your card is just another reminder maybe mess around with different shapes or styles of cards so it doesn't get lost in with other business cards . Hope this helps Sent using the http://Window Cleaning Forums mobile app
