  9. Scotland window cleaners licence

nothing they could do take the reg of your vehicle or ask customers for info where your working would be good to find out if anyone has ever even been reported for cleaning windows without a licence let alone fined
  10. Scotland window cleaners licence

yeah loads of videos of police on youtube but what they don't show is most but not all end up giving there details and been reported for the offence as that's all the police can do is report you to the prosecutors fiscal then its up to them if they take it further. seens to be a very fine line between acts and laws. An Act of Parliament creates a new law or changes an existing law. An Act is a Bill that has been approved by both the House of Commons and the House of Lords and been given Royal Assent by the Monarch. Taken together, Acts of Parliament make up what is known as Statute Law in the UK. Acts are weird tho as the police can't enforce the communications act for the tv licence but as for the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 they must be able to enforce it as it covers taxi licences premises licences and they can enforce them i think it just comes down to which ones they wont to enforce and what the an get away with

I agree you shouldn't have to give your details to anyone even the police but if they see you with a squeegee or wfp and no licence as part of the t&c's of the licence is to display it . Then gives the police reasonable suspicion you are committing an offence under Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982. and you would have to give your details I total agree with the concept of a licence just not the price difference and the enforcement issues
  12. Scotland window cleaners licence

Hey guys I've looked a bit more in to this and found out it is an act the act is Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982. it covers all licences and seems like they pick and choose which to enforce
  13. Scotland window cleaners licence

Yeah its just a scottish thing I can't seem to find any info on the penalty of not having a licence on the council website it says call 101 to report someone but no mention of any fine for not having one. I don't think enough people know you need to have a licence and this is a part of the issue i didn't know you had to have a licence until i watched tradmans canvassing youtube video. I am going to be doing some canvassing next week and if i get told they have a window cleaner am going to ask if they know if there window cleaner is licences might start to deter people if the next time there window cleaner comes they ask to see a licence or at leaest make them aware there is a licence and they can look in to it
  14. Scotland window cleaners licence

yeah seems window cleaners a getting singled out should be a cleaners licence not just a window cleaners and should also be a set price for all
  15. Scotland window cleaners licence

yeah there happy just to turn a blind eye don't get why window cleaners need a licence but gutter cleaners and pressure washers don't. gonna complain to council and go to MP no point in it if they are not gone to enforce it
