    Moving cash into bank

Yes but put it in a separate personal account that you only use for this purpose, not one that you actually use for personal use, even if it means you have to set up a new personal account, it’s then very quick and simple for your accountant or doing your books etc

    Struggling with WFS

I’ve found the best way for me personally is to do an extra thorough scrub of the top frame and rinse then clean the glass and other frames, sill and rinse, do the rest of the front upstairs windows like this, then back to the first one to just do one last rinse, repeat for the downstairs front...

when did gardiner stop free delivery?

They might save some money over the year but they get the service less often, it’s for our own benefit that we would change them to 6 weekly - and quite frankly Ive added stuff to my basket when shopping online just to get free delivery many times, so it probably will save me a bit of money here...

when did gardiner stop free delivery?

I’m sure plenty of you moaning have changed a customer to 6 weekly from 4 weekly because of demand, your profit will have increased in doing so. Never mind putting prices up every year etc as we all no doubt do, dropping customers if they are inconvenient such as a van stop for one house.. do...

    Skipping a clean

I make a note when they skip a clean and if after a few months they have been skipping every other clean or something then I ‘suggest’ they switch to an 8 weekly plan with a different price as they are too dirty to clean at a 4 weekly price. ?

    All eggs in one basket?

Ive just been in a similar situation in the sense that things had grown too much recently, I think covid has certainly made it easier for our businesses to grow so far. So for me personally I have two workers now which means I get through a lot more work, i time all my work and any jobs that I’m...

    Making the switch....

I can relate to feeling deflated when your changing over, I started thinking oh no what have I done. But it’s similar to learning how to trad when you first start out it feels alien and takes forever, just stick at it and eventually everything clicks and you’ll be glad you persevered -...

    Cleaning windows over an extension

I used to do plenty of windows like that with trad method for years. I liked using ladders and had a lot of customers that had got rid of wfp method. To be honest I thought the wfp method must be rubbish based on customers I’d picked up. Then one day last year I was doing a really simple...

Switching bank accounts from personal to business

I assume you have probably come to a decision by now but if not it might be useful for you to know that if you switch your personal account to a new bank then any payments to your old account will automatically get forwarded to the new account for a min. of 3 years, in which time you can get...

Univalve vs one shot vs wfp link... Full review

Might be slightly off topic but in case it helps anyone in regard to the price of univalve, if you just need one your best buying on eBay for just shy of £40 delivered but if you need multiple the best I’ve found is a pack of 3 on window cleaning warehouse and then add a 10%off code such as...

Whats the thing that annoys you most about being a Window Cleaner?

When the weather isn’t great and a customer says “you’ve picked a bad day for it” or “why are you working in this” like they think they are my only customer and I don’t work any other days of the month ?

    Walking window cleaner

First of all well done for not letting your lack of transport stop you from starting up. I personally couldn’t drive when I first started up because it was easy to get the train to my previous job and car insurance was crazy for me at the time, then the company I worked for went bust out of the...
