I am just in the process of picking my first startup van and have found this available for sale local to me, which could get me ready to start tomorrow

I am just a simple, one man set up with no plan expand or go bigger

What are folks opinions on this for £4,750?

Good value?  The 130k miles is a little off-putting, is this right to be concerned or can VW caddys go for lots more ?

Looks clean. So obviously well looked after and serviced every 10k.

Mileage is a funny one i have driven 100k plus diesels that feel like they are fresh from the showroom. And yet a mate of mine bought a 14 plate Astra (in 2014 so brand new) and the gear box went within 12 months luckily under warranty.

Next time you are in a taxi have a cheeky look at their mileage.

It all comes down to maintenance and a little bit of luck imo

I would be looking for a years mot on it. Don't fancy come October and it fails on the new emission test. If I was to buy it then I would want a years mot or I wouldn't be buying it. Probably best advice you will receive. You could get a AA report on it but far cheaper with a years mot. :1f609:

I can't comment on the WFP gear. But as for the engine, VW SDI and PD engines (this is the SDI) are pretty bulletproof. As long as they are serviced they go on for ages. Got a 1.9PD engine in my 'normal' car, remapped from 105 to 140bhp. Done 202k so far and still on original engine/turbo/gearbox.
No turbo on that van though, so expect to measure 0-60 with a calendar when your cleaning tank is full ?
