So I have been searching long and hard for a van but so far can't get exactly what I want. My question is pretty much as the title says what are peoples thoughts of running WFP from the back of a pick up? I have looked at some that have covers and I was thinking of adding a flat tank below the cover. I have seen a few set-up's where people run on a pick up but they always have the hard back on them. What sort of problems might I encounter? Any advice would be appreciated.

Using a truck if you need 5 seats and a decent payload without wanting a transit van then they work really well, Most people in general have a full hardtop on the back of the loadbed which are the same height as the cab with windows on the side and back.

Theft is hardly a issue as if needed pole(s) can be easily taken in the house overnight to prevent theft, I have a solid tonneau cover on mine no one can see whats in while I am working and my truck is garaged overnight.

If you are buying a older second hand truck then it would be best to ensure its fully checked out at a 4x4 specialist garage, As a standard garage service doesn't check everything, I ain't got the first idea about motors in general but a mate of mine has a 11 year old truck and always has his serviced at a 4x4 garage which checks everything as a truck has lot more to check than car or van.
