Hi lads, I'm in a real pickle...the clutch release bearing went on my 2002 Fiat Scudo 1.9d which was a gearbox out job. I did it, went really well got the part in etc. When it came to refitting the gear box it didn't go as smoothly as removal. Managed to just get it on the engine and started tightening the bolts and on the bottom at the back where the drives driveshaft connects to the gearbox is this round mount thing (pictured) with three bolt holes. So started tightening these evenly and as I was doing it it just snapped out of nowhere. Haven't investigated what caused it yet but I really need a new part. I don't even know what the part is called to find it online so if anyone knows what it's called or knows where I can get one that would be really great.

Thanks in advance [emoji1360]

Not sure what the part would is called. I would ring or go speak to a gearbox specialist or main dealers asap

You would be unlikely to find it online apart from a breakers or ebay.

Try joining a fiat forum or car forum e.tc and posting this on there

Bank holiday today so you'll struggle

Its an extension housing for the drivers side drive shaft. It looks like it houses the speedometer sensor.

I would probably suggest that your only option would be the main dealers unless you can get a used part off a damaged gearbox. If you have a gearbox remanufacturer near you then they maybe able to help with a used one.

I'm not sure why you removed it tbh, but the way to assemble it is to remove the speedo drive sensor and then fit the housing. You will be able to mesh the sensor spiral gear by turning it slightly until it meshes with the drive gear inside. The housing may have broken as the gears weren't meshed when you started to bolt it up. I would suggest you inspect both gears for any damage.

When you get a new housing I suggest you order a new seal. Then lubricate the inside of the seal lip before putting the drive shaft in.

Please don't stress yourself over this @Brandon. Mistakes happen or an unexpected issue occurs. It happens in the garage workshops as well.

If you stress out about it too much then you can start to make other mistakes.
