is this the asking price now of window cleaning rounds?

We were offered work and the price they have said is 5x the monthly run. Is that a little on the high side? I've always thought 3x the run was the norm or am I way out of practice?

    Cheers.

Yep definitely trying their luck. 2-3 is the norm. I would only pay three if it was well established, but 2times if it was reasonably new or freshly canvassed. But that said, like anything it all depends what the next person is willing to pay for it. Numbnuts is probably hoping you'll offer to pay 4Xso he can act like hes doing you a favour. Tell him to jog on.

I don't think that x4 is too much, if u work out what you earn in the long run. You have to remember that this one of few if not the only job with very little over heads and never starts in the negative unlike other companies that end up making a loss in their first couple of years before they start making profit.
At the end of the day the work is only worth what someone will pay for it.

Exactly. I just hope 4-5X becomes the norm when I go to sell my round. Some of the lads on here would be minted. I'd have enough to buy a comic and a Wham bar if I'm lucky.

Your quite right, if you are in it for the long run, then it is an investment in your future.

I would not buy a round myself as you are only buying good faith nothing else.

    Cheers guys.

I still think 3x turnover is reasonable. Not many trades able to charge that. Also as a few people on here know I have staff to pay so the initial outlay can take around 6 months to get back etc

I wouldn't buy work as smurf said it is only good faith and no guarantee of keeping the work
