I have been cleaning windows for many years off and on, mostly part time, been full time these past six years. This past winter I have been so fed up with the weather and everything I have been seriously thinking of starting up the dog walking again.

Its a good business and people love their pets, they mostly don't care that much about their windows. I did a bit before and was impressed with the potential, espescially here in London.

I am having thoughts again. its a good business, not least because most customers are every day regulars. Does anyone else do it?

No sure about the prices down there but the charge about 10 an hour up here, sometimes cheaper. Do you walk dogs in the rain/snow?

They do walk them in the rain and the snow although of course there are limits. You can also buy plastic doggie raincoats

but a good supply of cheap towels in the back of the van and a good dry off is usually enough.

£10 an hour is about the average but in London its nudging on £15 an hour. with four dogs at a time thats starting to look good. The bloke I talk to most has several people who work for him part time, students etc who mostly walk the dogs, he just drives around picking them up and delivering them back.

£10 to walk a dog for an hour? Why do people get a dog to pay for someone to walk it? Lol.. Dogs are not just for Christmas!

true belfast but its better than leaving the dog in all day whilst been out at work,or some old folk just need the company i know what your say if they work full time they shouldnt have a dog but at least they are doing the rite thing.

also id rather give someone a tenner to walk me dog then pay a guy a tenner to do my windows lol

Ten customers like that on your books is all you need and by walking the dogs three or four at a time its potentially only three hours actual walking time a day. Think about it
