I feel that I need to do something other than working, eating and sleeping.
The military kindly trained me in many interesting pursuits (Drinking, Walking around drunk, falling down, sleeping on the ground) Sorry wrong list, (Climbing, Abseiling,Canoeing, Navigation etc) and I thought I could put them to good use.
I have made an informal enquiry with a local Scout Troop. They are very, no..... extremely keen to get me on board so I thought I'd ask you if you guys had any experience before I started signing forms.

me selfish so I m out but I do like people that give so much back to the community...

to be fair...both daughters have been busy with the guides...in fact just learnt today one is off for tea with the queen as you do...well maybe not tea but the queens garden party...:D

any way good luck sp and dib dib dab..or what ever..I was in the church lads..so what do I know....and no ..I didnt want to be there...my mother thought I should leave the tele alone....so I am making up for it now..

and if you go on scout camp be careful....if you think cheapie is mad you aint met my brother....he was cooking his sausages outside his tent as you do...and he was going mad as he wanted to turn them and they had stuck to the pan so ...he grabbed a plastic fork....hmmmm

yep...it went melty melty all over the sausage....and along came one of the officers and asked for a butty...yummy..

My dad was group scout leader and then the top bod for stevenage before he died
He got a lot out of it and it seems a very worthwhile thing to do

I used to help run a junior football club and was a parent helper for the local scouts .....( only for camps ) ...... Junior Football club won the queens award for voluntary service in 2008 .. Four of us had after noon tea at the palace with the queen and 6000 others ??? Go for it sp .. I'm a firm believer that everyone should do something .sometime to help others ... Too much take in this world at the minute

another benefit for your business is it looks good if you volunteer . salt of the earth type person

i know thats not why you do it ,but it does look good on paper-

and when you take to the stage at awards ceremonys with eammon holmes and the water rats etc the scouts cheer at the back
