    The cleaning warehouse!

I bought a whole van system from them and the leisure battery they sent me is knackered! They want me to send the battery back to them and wait for the manufacturer to approve that it is faulty before they can do anything about it!

So I have bought a new battery or I cant do any work!

But they want me to pay the £15 to return the faulty battery which they wont refund. Why should I be out of pocket when they should have sent me an ok battery?

    What a joke im fuming!

check out your consumer rights , im based in ireland and the consumer rights states that if the goods are not fit for the purpose for which their sold then the consumer is entitled to a refund or a replacement so maybe its something similar in the u.k ,try google u.k consumer rights

To be honest mate that is the same with most online retailers and they are well within the law to check that the item is in fact faulty. Its definately a raw deal, that you have had to end up paying for postage to send the item back, but they are not under any legal obligation to reimburse you for that.

What you could do, is sent it back, and ask for a refund, as the product was faulty, and due to business constraints you were forced to buy from another retailer. That is within your rights. You don't have to take a replacement from them.

they are perfectly in there right to say that mate, same as a shop.

If you bought something fault from agros in store, they aint gona come out to you and pick that item up now are they? no you have to drive it back.

    Simples mate!

Actually thats not right, i used to buy and sell consumer electronics online.

Taken From the office of fair trading, retailers responsibility:

Any refund, repair or replacement you arrange with your customer relating to faulty goods must not cause them too much inconvenience and you will have to pay for other costs, for example, collection or delivery.

Im not fussed about waiting for a refund, just pretty peed off that ill be out of pocket.

As far as I know you can't post/courier batteries. We would have told you to go to your local supplier and refund the money the same day. It's not hard to provide good customer service to keep you working everyday.
