I have decided i need to bite the bullet and buy a water fed pole system.

    my requirements are as follows

    2 man set up.
125 metre hose ideally on one and 100 on other,
2 standard size poles for 2 story houses and 1 65 foot pole,
    a van
a method of producing pure water
    650l tank

I have cleaned traditionally for years and no very little about the set up of wfp.

i also need a van and the van wrapped.

Do i lease the van and the equipment?
buy the equipment and lease the van?
buy a van and lease or finance equipment?

Any advice massively appreciated. I need to move on this very fast.

    Thanks

Hey DT why the rush mate, be careful not to make rash purchase. could be expensive when it dosent need to be. A bit more info on what caused you to come to this decision, from the outside sounds like you have a big commercial job offer or opportunity to take on a load more work but you need to kit yourself to take it on, sorry if im way off the mark. but if thats the case a bit more info on the work your taking on will help us advise on things like van purchase options, WFP kit etc.

    Hi thanks for the reply.

I have been looking at getting wfp set up for about a year now, i think its safer for my workers and we should be able to get more work done, i currently have just under 700 monthly customers, and a little commercial work, your right i do require it for the commercial work ive been subbing out for the past year, and i want to get more commercial work. at the moment its costing me £500 to pay subbie for two days work every 3 months also. thats 2k per year leaving the business, the site is being built on and will be worth more with the extra work. any questions i will answer if it helps me get the right set up

The following is nothing more than my personal opinions on the subject, they are neither right nor wrong, they are simply right for me.

These days everyone seems to be 'Oh Oh, I want a two operator system, yada yada yada' I personally do not see the point in two operator systems as this means that two crew can only work with in an area of 100 meters from where the van is.

Personally I prefer one operator per van, I find that allows much more productivity. You send one lad off to one site and where it may take marginally longer to complete you will end up saving on hours compared to having two lads in a van.

If the job is so big it requires two lads at least you have the option to send two vans. Running cost of two vans is not so much more than running one van with two crew.

for one job we need more. But I have some make shift hose we use on that job. I guess 100 is more than enough. I know the lads who I use who had 100 metres cut there's down to about 70 as it was a nightmare with the reel.

cost I guess. We have two guys working together. A large proportion of our work is 25 miles away from where we live. just thinking of keeping the costs down.
