Hi guys (and... girls?)

This should be a simple one for the experienced WFP boys.

I sometimes find that one of the jets get blocked. I presume this is where a bit of grit has got into the hose when I connected the pole to the hose.

What's the best way to clear the blockage?

Paper clip in wound? Or cocktail sticks?

could do. but isn't it just going to get stuck in there again?

Or do you mean disconnect the jet first? That's a bit of a hassle. Still... If it's the only way...

Take the brush off, and the hose that connects to the jet, then pole around with a paper clip under hot water, should get it all out, then re-connect to hose and see how you get on...

I sometimes find that one of the jets get blocked. I presume this is where a bit of grit has got into the hose when I connected the pole to the hose. Very likely. I have been using those 360 hose Protectors from Aquadapter with EZ snap connectors. I find that they do help to prevent any dirt ingress when reel the reel in and coiling the pole hose when packing up.

What's the best way to clear the blockage?

You may also find that it could be a bit of resin if you have a di vessel between the pump and hose reel.

My son has 1mm jets in his brush and he suffers from this more than I do. He uses a backpack so transferring water from a 25 liter plastic drum to his backpack is another way a bit of grit can be introduced into the system.

To remove the grit is best done by removing the plastic tube/hose that feeds the jet. This means using hot water to soften the tube. I have a diesel air heater on the van so I have switched that on in the past and warmed to hose up under the exhaust.

Disconnect the jet hose, stick your face in the brush and blow...hard.

not a bad method but it may be wise to start with a course of antibiotics first

Pull the jet pipe off the pole hose & "suck" on it. You will never "blow" the dirt out, in my experience it has to come back out the way it went in. Obviously, try not to swallow it. This method will work 99% of the time.
