have you a tester or something to test the fuse? If it's a glass one you can tell if it's blown by looking at it. I'm pretty sure you can get them at most motoring shops like halfords, Bullseye etc.

I'd be surprised that your controller doesn't have reverse polarity protection though if that's what it is.

When I did that I blew my digital controller up. It did work, sort of, but kept randomly shutting off, which effectively rendered it useless for work. I had to replace it. It bugs me that when you pay close to £100 for a controller that they don't come with reverse polarity protection. I now just use my original simple PWM controller. It works a charm.

Think it blow because it sparked on battery looks like it scorched fuse but not broke wire inside shows signs of burnt marks

We've all done it. Its like filling your diesel van up with petrol. It catches us all out sooner or later, all the more so if you are dyslexic.

I'm fortunate to be able to park on the driveway. I plug the charger in a permanent socket correctly wired up onto the van so I can't make the mistake again.

When I did it I watched myself doing it but I just didn't stop myself. It wasn't difficult to identify which terminal was which as both the battery terminal and the battery post was colour coded. It was as though the brain and the body were out of sync again.

If I didn't have a choice and had to take the battery out for charging then I would add a diode into the positive supply to the controller.
