Evening all

After some advice please I have a di only set up and recently got 2 x 20" carbon & sediment filter housings in preparation for a future RO set up ,

My question is

Can I use these pre filters before my di vessel now to lighten the work my resin has to do or will they not make a difference ???

Thanks

Don't know if pre filters actually lower the ppm, but it will remove debris and dirt which your DI filters probably are better off without.

On the other hand, I'd guess you need a lot of gunk in the resin before it starts to be less effective, and at that stage you'll probably need to replace it anyway. And prefilters also wear out.. This would need a cost analysis of the price of prefilters versus the potential shorter life of the resin.
