I agree. I never try to write anything malicious. Much of what I say on any forum is tongue in cheek. If it comes across otherwise, often it may be the way we read stuff. Even the friendliest texts can be sometimes misconstrued.

Having spent 20 years in insurance (before 3 redundancies & turning to cleaning), and H&S for 3 of those years, I can say with 100% certainty that an insurance company would not have paid out if you had damaged yourself, the property, the panels or the customer.

Basically they would have excluded it due to placing yourself & 3rd party property in a position of unacceptable risk - no safety equipment etc etc etc.

Just remember, if you had slipped & kicked a solar panel off the roof, or dropped your brush off the roof & it had landed on top of the customer you could have faced a compensation claim into 6 figures. If no insurance, they simply take what you have.

I suppose if they have nothing and no insurance then it's just the customer who loses out as when I studied law they used to say "never sue a man of straw".
