Keeping water warm.

Anybody ever tried a house hot water tank to keep water warm.Mine stays hot for a couple days with the jacket on tank.Was thinking of heating water with my portable gas  water heater and putting water into tank should stay hot all day.Just heat more water when tank is near empty.Should be pleanty of secondhand tanks about.

Ive got an outside tap, so thinking of putting a mixer on it with hot wayer, so i can heat water going out through di n insulate tank.

No chance. Scrap values too high on them.

yes they fetch good money at the scrap dealers.Sometimes though you can pick them up on gumtree from people who have upgraded and dont know the value of secondhand ones.

Dont know if the copper would affect tds readings.

No chance. Scrap values too high on them. 

Braziery copper is at least £3 per kg, a tanks scrap value would be circa £40.
