In my opinion no! I do have one customer who has it done every 6 months so it stays clean but on the whole I'd rather do more windows. Did one this week and it was minging, I wasn't happy with the results and it seemed the more water I poured on it the more dirt came out of the joints and seals yet customers mostly expect them to come up like new.

Blast mingers with a hose pipe first. Glass roofs are a pain and will normally still look dirty when looking at the sky from inside. Custy doesn't usually realise that they get dirty inside too! I like doing them on the whole.

I have six customers who have the conservatory roof included with their 6 weekly clean as a norm. I have added a £10 to the price but because I go over them every time with WFP there is nothing to it.

If they are done as a one off I charge anything from £45 upwards. The last one I did was £75. (His window cleaner refused to do it. They were happy and have contacted me two years running.)

  4. I always quote too little. Always takes twice as long and the shallow pitched types need too much water to wash the bits out from under the exposed rafter type sections.

Is there a way of removing lead stains from glass?

I have priced too little, too often in the past,......not any more. I'd rather not do the job.

I'm not sure if there is a way to remove the staining, but I just point out the lead staining and say that there is nothing I can do to remove it.

Always stick in a good price for yourself. Something invariably crops up and slows you down while doing a conny.

I've found that neat Virosol applied on a microfibre will remove leaded stains. Winsol might do it, but I haven't tried that on leaded lights.

In my humble opinion I think it's a total waste of money paying £70-£80 to clean a conservatory roof. Yes just going over it with a hose & brush but cannot see the point of spending that much when after 3-4 days they have dust fly & birds **** over them as they face the sky. The dirtest windows I do is always a velux. It faces the sky & collects everything. I charge £15 & just give them a clean including the whites. Guarantee when I go back in 6 weeks its covered in **** again. & you don't need pure to get the green off. Washing up liquid gets it off fine. Think we go over the top with all this stuff we use. Just my opinion.
