Help with pump choice

Hi, new to the forum and new to window cleaning so please be gentle.

I need to transfer purified water from my storage tank to van but am struggling on which pump is best. I it will be run through 15mm copper pipe and then via hose. The pump will only be used for a few minutes each day. Will a submersible pump be ok left sitting in pure water constantly or will it spoil the water? Would an inline pump be best? And any idea what the max GPD pump I should use through standard garden hose and 15mm pipe? I need to fill as fast as possible as I will be stopping outside my house (on a busy road with no parking)

Thanks

Craig

1/2" garden hose is too small to transfer water quickly. At 20 psi a 100 foot length of garden hose will deliver a little more than 20 liters of water. I'm not sure what output water pressure these pumps or submersible pumps achieve, but increasing pressure doesn't make huge amounts of delivery gain.

Depending on the amount of water and the distance, the smallest pipe would be 1" suction/delivery hose available from Machine Mart.

It needs to be treated with respect. Standing on it isn't ideal.

A 'lay flat' hose is probably the best bet but they need to be treated with care - rolled out and rolled back, not dragged along the ground.

You will need to be aware of the implications of a hose across a pavement and any risk with regard to pedestrians. Warning signs are a must and I would consider some form of protection such as a wooden ramp with the hose underneath it.

We use 1" transfer hose with a 42 lpm pump. We join 2 lengths of transfer hose together as its easy to coil up 2 pieces than 1 long piece - all in all about 35 meters. The water comes out of the end of that hose pretty quickly, but it still seems like an eternity when filling the van up.

A submersible pump is a good investment as that sits inside the storage tank. We use an external pump which sits above our IBC tank in a cabinet. It has a foot valve on the end of the hose inside of the tank. Its nearly 8 years old and similar to this with a 41 lpm output and not self priming;
