Difference between hybrid medium and medium gardener brushes?

And also I still don't get what the 'flocked' brushes are for, or what they do different?

I have both gardiner brushes so I will go and check later, but the outer bristles are longer and either stiffer or softer and the shorter bristles inside are the opposite. Also flocked bristles are softer, they are split bristles, so I would guess they are better for regular cleans, leaded windows etc, and likely things like fingerprints as there is alot more surface area of bristles on the glass at any one time, but I found I needed stiffer bristles for first cleans and bird poo and flocked brushes take more work /emoticons/wink.png

Think of flocked brushes as half way between a standard brush and a scrim.. :thumbsup:

If you use a flocked type bristle brush for window cleaning you have no choice but to rinse off the glass as dirt etc gets trapped more so than a unflocked bristle brush. That is unless you use over bar type spray jets on taller work

I thought you always had to rinse of the glass after brushing it?

Just checked my brushes Jake, its a shame they don't bloody label them so you know which is which. Got two hybrids I think, one is stiffer bristles on the outside and soft bristles on the inside. The other one is flocked on the outside and not flocked on the inside.

I guess a hyrbid is designed to be a jack-of-all-trades brush. I reckon they would be good for a fairly clean window from say the 3rd clean onwards, but slow to use on first cleans and really get cobwebs stuck in them good and proper!

The hybrid has "natural" bristles in the middle for better scrubbing over nylon bristles. Not sure which animal they're from but there's a distinct smell of horses arse when they're new.....:turd:

Gonna order a medium hybrid, Although hate white brushes! Always look messy and mank, i like the black brush, looks the dogs gonads and doesn't look all manky like the white ones..

Haha turns out I have the soft brushes, not the mediums. I agree, white brushes look dirty quickly. If you look closely at the inner bristles on your hybrid you'll see they are multi-coloured animal hairs. I think my half flocked half standard is a 'mixed' and tje half synthetic, half animal are 'hybrids'.

Got the soft hybrid mate and find excellent plus it's black too

Thays the one I've got mate, it's lovely, but I find it sticks to the glass a bit too much, a bit 'grippy'

you tried the flocked one I have that too and that is great, I find both excellent although not much to compare to it been new

I haven't tried the flocked, been using Superlite brushes for years but only the standard ones, so have no expierence with the flocked...

Also tend to use my facelift brushes the most, but starting to revert to supreme brushes now as they are the best yet...

Looked at the guide mate, but doesn't really answer the questions on what the brushes are made off or the diefferenve in feel etc
