Here you will see it is not necessary to dog-ear your squeegee channels inwards but just up!!
This can be done with any standard squeegee channel.
    This will explain why.

Looks pretty damn good, but I don't understand how the dog ear is even going to be active? The dog ear is so far back from the rubber, how does it work if you're only pressing so lightly?

for me, I need to have it just making contact and pushing the rubber ever so slightly forward from the centre position.

In the video you will notice when flexing the squeegee rubber back .
Goes back on the squeegee channel.
However cutting and splaying the channel up closer to the edge of the squeegee rubber.
That that part now does not flex that far back.
There is no need to press hard on the squeegee.

Have no doubt that if we did this on a Moerman squeegee channel it would work exactly the same as this one.
Then you don't have to worry about a clip falling off , bending flexing to wrong angle or squeegee rubber folding.
Also use it without changing how you use your squeegee.
    Just saying
