How many of you actually have a business plan? or have one that you stick too?

Anyone know where I can get a good template for one? free or paid for!

or any tips on making one yourself?

The other thing was a letter to commercial company's & small businesses, schools, hotels etc. Template or tips?

Anyone had much luck with this type of letter? or is it better just straight ringing them or dropping in?

I have been working at my business plan recently.

There are various free resources that are avaiable and a number of paid products.

I just did an online search for how to write a business plan and came up with a number of things, so me more useful than others.

Here are a couple of the paid products that I came across:

Law Depot - http://www.lawdepot.co.uk/contracts/business-plan/

Business Plan Software - http://www.bplans.co.uk

Free Resources

I Found a Couple of pdfs that I can't remember which web page them came from, so here is a link to my copies:

There are a lot of other articles etc. I just read a lot of stuff, and am in the process of writing a plan.

Business plan is a must. Gives you drive.

I made one just before xmas and so far i think i am well ahead of schedule and almost completed it.

It is not because i made it easy for myself. With all that bad weather, i was just pumping in every hour at work possible and then when i got it. Carrying on again.

As for templates and such, got loads.

If you want them, just send me a PM

only business plan i have that keeps me moving is no work no money, get more customers this year and aim for a target of income each week. so far im over it all so i can take my foot of the pedal but ill start again pretty soon. i started out with the idea of getting work in first year and taking someone on the next but never went to plan and just depressed me so taking someone on is my last option.

without a business plan you dont have a planned business.

Business plan of course. They are not written in stone and it should be used as a document to change and grow as your business does.

Its good to be able to see how you predicted something and how you may have overcome unexpected problems.

Local companies like outset, various different locations run business courses for free and offer help in compiling business plans

Small snippet from mine.

Website is to be up and running by the end of May 2013/Beginning of June 2013

I wrote the plan in December 2012 and website went live March 2013

i remember my plans, basically get as much work as you can, not technically hard lol. its not like i need to go to a bank is it and ask ( BEG ) for a loan.

Thanks for the links WWC & thanks again Damo for the templates!

How do you give the points in the green box? (another silly question lol) do you just mark it as solved?

Sorry to jump in here, but have you been in contact with boosting business ni? If not I'll get the details for you, you can book a meeting, or sign up online, and takes you through the process of writing your plan. Very helpful for new businesses, I was there a few weeks ago on a new business idea..

For windows, I wanted to do a business plan, and think its a good idea, but after 5 years, iv done ok without 1.. My plan is to work my socks off until im 40 then retire!

I also think this book ( winning at windows ) will be a great help in planning your business

I LOVE GREEN POINTS!

Makes me feel very special.

If you feel somebody has helped or find a post funny you can add a "rep point"

You can only do it on a computer or full version viewing on a phone.

On the post you want to add a point too. Click the green arrow on the far right.
