If you like the ergotec straps the way unger intended, great. But I bought the ergotec straps back in about 2009, hated them and threw them in the back of a cupboard.

Well I can say I've successfully turned these things from a heavy piece of something you wouldn't be seen dead in, to a useful piece of my toolkit. The pads (for me), and the incredibly overkill heavy iron/lead weight (?) jangly clip attachments aren't needed. Nor are any of the sister attachments on the ergotec belt, that I removed years ago anyway.

Simply loop the straps through any padded or sturdy belt. Tighten up all the way at the back, between your pockets, then loop round the front of your belt, exactly opposite the back ones and adjust for size round the front. tighten the front loops up with a large ikea bevara sealing clip (or whatever you can find). I did hack saw my clip attachements off, but it can be done with them still on. Finally, throw a shirt over the top of it all, if you're still ashamed to be seen.

For me, the fact they are mounted only directly front and back is not an issue. the only issue I have it that the space required for the braces looped at the back pushes my left hand pocket along the belt a little. This makes it so I can't have my boab as far round my side as I'd like.

    Cheers for the info.

I'm lucky that my fat **** stops my belt falling down, and my beer gut stops it riding up. Much success.

I'm going to have to play around with mine to get them right. Only had a few weeks and I've got an issue with a bit of neck chafing, I really want the straps to sit on the shoulders but haven't managed to achieve that yet.

looks like the braces should be better to cross over rather than goin straight up
