Will you not just need a hozelock female?

You will probably need one of these for the end of your 8mm hose reel - http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/al...ase-shut-off-coupling-with-8mm-hose-barb.html

Or one of these if using 6mm ID hose - http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/al...stop-fitting-for-microbore-minibore-hose.html

Most people who use 8mm ID (minibore) hose reel hose, switch to a more compact couplings range such as either the EZ- Snap - http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/al...rofessional-hose-couplings/ez-snap-range.html or the 26 range range - http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/al...ssional-hose-couplings/pro-026-couplings.html

gardiners have hoselock plastic fitting straught off your 8mm hose no other fittings requred great fitting lasts ages
    one point excuse the pun
when you push the male fitting into female dont twist it push it straught in otherwise you snap

I ran for a long time with just the 8mm hose pushed into a short length of 1/2" hose & retained with a few plastic cable ties, then just put a female on the end of this.;)
