I have been cleaning windows for over ten years and up until four years ago I was full time but due to becoming disillusioned with weather, collecting etc I took a full time job!
During the four years that I have been employed I have continued to clean windows at weekends, holidays etc and have always enjoyed it.
After reading this forum for the last few months I am considering going full time again as I am sure that I earn more "On the windows"!
    Any opinions would be welcome!!!
Ta just wanted to get it off my chest!!!

well if you get the taste for it go for it, make ssure that you could afford to live on a tight budget for the first few weeks/months, its hard and slow while building a round up, but once you have a good round built up its worth it! yer the weather is a down side to the job, and this year has been a poor one, but it is worth it!

good luck with what ever you choose to do!

    Thanks for advice RC!
I am not too concerned about building up round cos I have had a lot of my old custys approach me to begin cleaning as apparently the bloke that bought my round didnt last long and neither did any one that bought the round off him!
I am pretty sure that I can build up round again pretty quickly but just want to think of something to do in wet as I remember this really got on my nerves before!!!

thats a good start then, at least you know there are some good customers there then!
when i have days off coz of the weather, i use this time looking for more leads for work, gettin leaflets sorted, sort out new areas to go to etc etc

I always think this when its wet.

But think again, that if I had a massive round going working every day for 6 to 8 hours, then like other window cleaners should be able to afford a day off inexpectedly, am in the position where notmany custies so can change days but i still need more.

    Yeah good ideas!
I was hoping to clean solar panels or a bit of painting etc.
I was also considering oven cleaning, carpet cleaning or valeting?
    Not sure!

    Same here Graham .

If you can afford to give up your 9 til 5 then go for it .

I started in different circumstances and to be honest im thinking i wish i had done this before !
obviously im not earning as much as i was before in a full time job but i feel better off for it spending time with family etc .
    I love it .
